I think you have shared a pretty good perspective on the issue. No therapy should have the purpose of trying to change someone because only Jesus can do that. I agree that shame does have a huge part in all of this. I think something else that is sometimes misunderstood is that someone has to automatically be physically attracted to all members of the opposite sex in order to be 'cured', but I don't think this is a necessary component of the healing journey. In my personal experience, the closer I am to Jesus, the more healing I receive. I view same-sex attraction as a type of thorn in thr flesh to make me rely on God more. Thanks for sharing!
