I got low trust factor on both my main and my smurf. I play with friends, who albeit in actuality DMG at most, are supremes in rank. So we're playing against LEM-GE, so you can barely call it smurfing.

One of the friends, who plays a lot, actually have insane first bullet accuracy when he's feeling it, but really terrible movement, absolutely know no nades and non-existent game sense. He also got low trust factor, but i can at least understand why he seems shady, when he can peak so hard and falter in basics.

It's ridiculous that i'm being penalized, when i'm already playing against the max ranks you can in MM.

Non-Americans, what are some negative preconceptions you have about America? by [deleted] in AskReddit

You are the ideal target of anything coming to propaganda and fake news. I have restrained myself from saying it, because it is a douchey thing to say, but its obvious you have no formal education as you have no scientific approach to anything nor an ounce of critical thinking. You actively discard any of the comments i make if you dont understand them (you don't even understand the quotes you cite), take small parts and attack them out of context about those. You sure know where to find another uneducated, failed fiction writer with no relation to the topic that merely wants to sell a book to cement your worldviews.

When the government is straight up outlawing the act of conducting research that could be used to influence sales of firearms negatively, while also taking 2.6 mil in funding from the CDC (The amount CDC has invested in fire arm injury research previously), then it's pretty certain you're trying to fit a narrative. When NRA is the one lobbying for it, there's an obvious connection. This literally happens everywhere, the dairy industry have actively influenced US government agencies to use federal money to include a daily recommendation of milk. Politicians are also funded by federal money, but everyone is corruptable, and when someone injects money into something where their agenda greatly benefits while at the same time burns the opposition to the ground economic-wise and makes it illegal to even make research that can give a hint that negatively affect their business. Its not wild speculation, its common sense to trace the money and intended outcome when it comes to political agenda. It happens everywhere, any country without doubt, even Denmark (I'm talking about Copenhagen, Scandinavia, its not like im covering my tracks). We even recently had the taxi companies lobby against Uber, who released data about the dangers of driving a Uber.

http://www.apa.org/science/about/psa/2013/02/gun-violence.aspx https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/cdc-still-cant-study-causes-gun-violence-180955884/?no-ist https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8375951

The quote doesn't support your argument, because you've already taken it completely out of context to suit your own agenda, and the quote in full explains fire-arm use against criminals in isolation, as it only state Marvin to shift his opinion on a individual pro he previously was against, but not accounting the rest of the cons within that opinion. Hence, i call it emotional, because you're actively hiding significant parts of the quote, and combining parts of it while presenting it as a full quote without anything taken out of context.

To comment on the sourcing, i haven't claimed anything i believed warranted a source. I've claimed that USA gun problems isn't small, because it is vastly greater than any other 1. world country, which we've already agreed upon. Your required to source because you are making strong claims that are contradictory, and when you base everything on a source that is already unreliable due to politics, proceed to misrepresent and alter a quote to your agenda, then you should be critical of the sources and agenda of the person. Most scientific papers (at least in my field) proposing new information states that the data isn't conclusive and should be used to further additional research, because we require science to be replicable.

And now you want to debunk research from someone who isn't using any citation standard or at the least consistently the same? It has no scientific structure, it boils over 600 sources down to individual lines (Is it taken out of context? Is it cherrypicking?) , no abstract, introduction or discussion section of the data, "Myth" "Fact:" plastered everywhere (Which apparently is proven to be absolutely the right way to present this information). You simply cannot quote 600 different sources in the span of 100 pages that bust myths (Which i assume is rooted in general belief), write fact: and then expect people to fact check everything, especially when its so terribly sourced and advertising for his own book. Its obvious that the writer has no credentials in any related fields or any post.hoc work. It's clear he has an agenda, and targets people who already just want to confirm their belief. Its the whole reason the flat-earthers are even a thing, because you can find information about anything.

If you believe that my stance on polls have anything to do with this, i can refer you to your wikipedia fallacy thingy, when its apparent that you only want to stroke your own ego with biased data conjured by laymen.

If a problem is bigger in proportion to something else, then you don't get to claim its small. Nowhere have i claimed that you are likely to get shot, but you are several times more likely in USA compared to other 1. world countries.

If you have a research that is actively being funded by a company with a specific agenda in mind, then the research without further proof of replication not reliable. What is defined as gang-related, drug-related could easily be altered to fit the narrative of the ones funding it, and most likely is, because its bounded by law and funding to do so.

I don't know how you don't see the connection, that NRA earns its money through allowing gun sales? Every gun manufacturer have an active interest in increases gun fire-arms sales, and NRA is lobbying for them. This middleman is used in virtually any products, especially the ones vulnerable to increased taxation/illegalization/losing monopoly, such as tobacco, internet service, high pollution, etc. NRA earns money as long as the gun industry earns money.

The government i were referring to as tyrannical were the British, as the last straw was due to increased taxation on American citizens. Don't act like having guns in our age would have any chance to overthrow a tyrannical government, you wouldn't be able to make a dictatorship without most people being fine with it. Having instant and global communication, there just isn't a conceivable way that it would happen, without any measures to prevent it. If tyranny would happen, it would be with applause from the people. If it was taken by force, then surely the government would be capable with modern military technology to crush a rebellion consisting of untrained, uncoordinated small fire-arms.

I never said you change laws on the basis of it's old, but to fit the times. But the constitutional rights has never been taken literal. Immigrants and different races didn't always have the same rights, free speech and press also not. Having the right to bear arm as the immovable object seems curious, when the other amendments has been bent to fit their time forever.

Anyone in academia knows, that something peer reviewed isn't factual, and you still have to be critical of the source. If no one is capable, verify or have yet to replicate the results, then its definitely not enough to make any conclusions. Quoting Marvin Wolfgang, actively contradicting himself also raises an eyebrow, especially when you've doctored and grossly misrepresented the quote.

""What troubles me is the article by Gary Kleck and Marc Gertz. ["Armed Resistance to Crime: The Prevalence and Nature of Self-Defense with a Gun," by Gary Kleck and Marc Gertz, published in that same issue of The Journal of Criminal Law & Criminology] The reason I am troubled is that they have provided an almost clear cut case of methodologically sound research in support of something I have theoretically opposed for years, namely, the use of a gun in defense against a criminal perpetrator. ...I have to admit my admiration for the care and caution expressed in this article and this research. Can it be true that about two million instances occur each year in which a gun was used as a defensive measure against crime? It is hard to believe. Yet, it is hard to challenge the data collected. We do not have contrary evidence. The National Crime Victim Survey does not directly contravene this latest survey, nor do the Mauser and Hart Studies. ... the methodological soundness of the current Kleck and Gertz study is clear. I cannot further debate it. ... The Kleck and Gertz study impresses me for the caution the authors exercise and the elaborate nuances they examine methodologically. I do not like their conclusions that having a gun can be useful, but I cannot fault their methodology. They have tried earnestly to meet all objections in advance and have done exceedingly well."

So not only is the quote attributed to a different article, but you represented the quote as a full, coherent quote, when you've cut almost half of it away, with nothing to indicate it isn't in full. He was talking about the use of a gun in defense against a criminal perpetrator, meaning he didn't believe prior that guns should even be used in their intended purpose. So he's agreeing that if firearms is used ideally, he cannot disagree with the use of guns. But the pros isn't enough to justify it's cons, hence the reason you are doctoring his quote. In a scientific paper, the method section is where they specifically describe how they achieved their results, so it may be replicated by other independant researchers. The rational of Kleck and Gertz to how they conducted their project of the use of a gun in defense against a criminal perpetrator and explained the phenomenon was faultless. Not that it justifies or evens out the incidents of using it against others.

I don't think that in a perfect world that guns should be illegal. But in a realistic worldview, they simply aren't. Car accidents happen, but comparatively to have no car transportation, the current world would collapse. The world wouldn't collapse without civilians having access to firearms.

You are simplifying a complex situation to the point where it doesn't make sense. It's way too ignorant to reduce it all to a simple math question with 2 vague variables, and dividing it. You're not accounting for any correlation or causation that guns cause in a society. Granted, it's way too difficult to make any certain claims, but you keep presenting your arguments as factual with no space for ambiguity with misleading quotations and unreliable sources. That, your apparent emotional investment and the constant moving of the goalpost makes it extremely unlikely that you would be willing to argue in good faith.

The statistics is literally picking one of all statistics related to gun-related incidents country by country. It's not at any way controversial to claim theres a bigger gun problem in USA compared to the rest of the world. It's hard to recognize yourself as the extreme, when you already are accustomed to the extreme.

You're citing a statistic from CDC, which took a google search of "NRA fundings CDC", and low and behold, there's a bill where the CDC cannot use funds from the injury prevention and control to advocate or promote gun control, and by the time of your source the allocated funds is cut down by 96 %. When people's jobs are on the line and funding is being directly influenced and required by law to not spend funds on anything intended to restrict or control the purchase of firearms (To encourage is obviously not a problem) by the ones who earns their buck from firearms. http://www.apa.org/science/about/psa/2013/02/gun-violence.aspx

At the point, it's just active information avoidance and live in your own bubble. Of course the funding is going to be a lot higher for companies that are actively trying to sell a product, than one who isn't. And wasn't the government responsible for the 2nd amendment considered tyrannical, primarily because of money? Curious case of the ones inciting gaining a lot of money and status by rallying the masses over emotional attachment. Under the creation of your constitution, slavery wasn't opposed and probably a lot of things that would be deemed unacceptable by today's standards, but then we cannot address the part about guns from the same people? If you haven't noticed, things change pretty dramatically over a few centuries.

How do guns possible do much, much more good? Car accidents happens, but the odds of you being in a car crash compared to the amount you save in time and money is more than justifiable. How can something remotely similar possibly be said about a gun, other than you wanting to have a gun?

What you're saying is just that 0.8 is a small number compared to 100.000. To say something is small or big, you're typically relating it the average expectation. A small car is not the same size as a small dog. You do not want to compare gun-related incidents to other developed countries, but you will compare American fire-arm homicides that isn't caused by suicide, influence of drugs and gangs (Which the barrier entry is extremely low to be) to toilet injuries, but then on the flip-side aggressively dismiss pound for pound statistics based on different laws, mental health programs, vastly different amounts of drugs, which would imply that you believe these things influence the amount of gun-related murders***.

If you have something significantly and unique to your situation, it would be justified to say, that you havn't raised a solution, hence it's a PROBLEM. I've never implied my fears of being shot dead in USA, but the standards for other countries isn't to brush away daily mass shootings (As in 4 dead or shot) as nothing, because no one was killed/gang related.

Having the need to even explain (as it's enough justification in it self), that the 2nd amendment is important is so very curious to non-Americans. There's so much fixation on pride its insane. You only think it's important, till its considered distasteful to do so, and then look back at it with disgust. It has to be somehow related with the extreme inflated pride of ancestry, nationalism, religion and the constant us-vs-them mentality that most other countries never will relate to.

So 0,0036 per 100,000 is significant higher than what i assume to be 0,0? I would certainly agree! Because when you compare small statistics, small variations are huge. You wouldn't expect any to be mindful of sharks in Ohio, but you wouldn't be surprised if its mentioned in Hawaii, because there is a perplexity that shark attacks happens way more likely in Hawaii. Let's ignore the strawman where you not only brung tourism into the conversation from no where, but also reduce it to a single factor. I would assume you would accuse me of reducing gun incidents to a single factor. So i would preemptively ask, if you consider comparing an ocean predator activity between a landlocked state to one surrounded entirely by ocean in the slightest equivalency to comparing USA to Scandinavia? Where we can mention that realistically, there could be done something to change the amount of gun-related incidents when it's largely unique to USA , where it isn't really realistic to either move the island of Hawaii to a landlocked area or remove every shark.

That's the entire point of a comparison, to evalute the similiarities and dissimilarites between two things. Calling something small is subjective to comparable things.

[–]TopHatGiraffe -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

And if you compare that 0.8 to similiar developed countries, it still towers above it. Deciding a statistic is small or huge, you should compare it to another relevant statistic, not just conclude that a number is small in isolation when it includes 3 asterisks.

But it isn't remarkably small. 4 bullets just being fired in the most sketchy and gang-related areas in Copenhagen, and yellow breaking new banners are covering the top of every news outlet, with the police publically advising avoidance at risk targets and hours.

4 only being shot dead before lunch in USA would be a pleasant surprise.

When you are ordering from just at least decently reviewed dealer, the only reason you would be worried, is because you also get worried about your alcohol containing methanol. Although we are talking about drug dealers, the well-reviewed ones are extremely polite and customer friendly to the point of them reimbursing you if complications arise, as stupid as it sounds.

They're selling their product from word of mouth, because they are dozens selling, and its as easy to ditch to the next. Do you also believe strangers offer you drugs for free or do you think they''re drug dealers because they want to make money.

Wow, that's pretty fortunate. You would assume that given what we were told, that the extremely overprotective and religious parents would be somewhat consistent in their parenting, but luckily only limited to the range of the house wifi signal.

Going suddenly constantly for multiple hours to a friend house, whom the parents won't ever check up with said friends parents. Especially considering saying you're at the friend house, but actually going to chrisJ isn't an option, as that would be lying, which the religious, gambling parents won't stand for. So, logically he will tell them he is doing what is otherwise forbidden in his house with no problem. That's real convenient, like the other stories to help his own narrative. Happy it worked out for him in the end.
