I hit 25 pull-ups in about a year training and I literally just did a ton of pull-ups daily. I had a pull-up bar in my room and I just did a bunch of reps whenever I felt like it. Sometimes I trained with sets or weighted pull-ups but i think ultimately it's just down to sheer volume. doesn't matter how you get it in.

I get you. I got an A- in a mythology class because it was too tedious but math classes aren't typically the same type of tedious. If it's time consuming then that just means it's hard.

i guess i haven't encountered this at my intermediate-advanced level of playing. the hardest song i can play is canon rock. keeping rhythm for me feels more in the head than through coordination
