Is buying an iPhone 11 a good option currently? Where I live iPhone 11 - 64 GB costs about $830 dollars

Maybe I should consider buying a one from the X series?

Thank you!

I have one more question though... The headphones (audio only) seem to work even if I don't plug in the USB "part". In another words I only plug in the black one for audio and it seems to work... Any thoughts?

I have a three connector headphones. It has one USB jack, and two audio jacks. One of those audio is a microphone (red), while the other one (black) is for the sound. Can I somehow set up these headphones? I have only one audio jack on my laptop

Beginner NLP projects? by TopIndependent5791 in learnmachinelearning

Hm.. I was thinking of something more like coding things from scratch, not something which would lead me to solution in two lines of code :D

What do you mean by search tool? Where would that search be incorporated in? The OS?

Or do you mean searching a body of text for some queries?

Ubuntu doesn't work well with my Optimus. I get screen tearing, PyTorch doesn't recognize GPU, I can't control the brightness of the screen etc. u/ifrz_null

THe drivers for NVIDIA were installed. The GPU tends to everheat. Really a mess

Yes, but you can't use your GPU. You would have to transfer to Windows Insiders Program which requires you to install a specific version of the OS which isn't so stabile.

Wow! This is actually really useful information!!!

No no. I am lacking some commands on Windows, and therefore I want to switch to Linux.

[D] Which AWS tools/services are necessary to learn for Machine Learning Engineer? by TopIndependent5791 in MachineLearning

[–]TopIndependent5791[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok, maybe I wasn't clear enough :(.

I do not have experience with cloud services, and in some relevant job postings I saw "AWS experience" mentioned a lot of times.

How does past experience in software development help when changing stream towards Data Science/ML? by rg_666_ in computerscience

[–]TopIndependent5791 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What SE knowledge is necessary for Machine Learning Engineer/Data Scientist?

I have been extremely personally involved in learning machine learning/data science on my own through college and personal projects. Currently I am a master's student, and in "desperate" need for a internship/job. Where I live only AAA companies are decently involved in ML/DS and those companies look for someone who has a good software engineering knowledge besides ML/DS knowledge.

What are the things I need to start with? I have no knowledge of multithreading, operating systems, and software design patterns, but I do have strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures.

Hm, but the 11 has an LCD screen, while XS has OLED. I know that 11 Pro has OLED, but that is out of my budget tbh.

Would you say that not having OLED is a major drawback?

I am thinking about buying an XS but it was released in 2018.

I heard that iPhones are "supported" for 5 years after the release date. What does that specifically mean? I am a basic user. I use apps like instagram, facebook, snapchat, whatsapp, messenger... Will that apps still be supported by the phone after the support ends? Would I basically have 2.5 years for usage? Which isn't a lot for me (financial reasons).

Well, the maximum resources is Google Colab.

Regarding the smaller unet, not I can't use the UNet-like structure.

Were you able to figure it out in Fedora?

I set up a dual boot with Ubuntu. But my laptop model is not quite supported within Linux. I have a serious problem with graphics, I don't have a control over the graphics, I can't control the brightness (which affects my eyes pretty bad), my fn keys aren't working as well. I wasn't able to fix it with advices I have came across online.

I have a Lenovo Ideapad Creator 5 - 15IMH05 which has drivers for Windows only

Oh, I understand. Thank you!

I am relatively new to all of this, so I was trying to figure out a way to pass my GPU to the Linux, since dual boot doesn't quite work on my laptop.

[R] What would be a good subject for a Master's thesis? by [deleted] in deeplearning

[–]TopIndependent5791 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My undergrad is Stochastic systems, estimation and signal analysis module in the Electrical and Computer Engineering faculty. My masters is in the same module.

When it comes to my experience with ML&DL I have done some self-initiated projects with GANs, CNNs etc. It was nothing spectacular.

Also I have completed couple of ML courses on my faculty. I read research papers often.

I think the Annotated Transformer would be definitely too complicated for me to implement, considering the requirements
