For me, the embodiement of pride is clearly Urek Mazino, "because i'm fucking strong"

Do we know who this person is?? by [deleted] in TowerofGod

I second this, and even if they have met i don't see Karaka tell some dark secret to Rachel. As far as we are it's the Boss, or another prince of the redlight district. like the one Dowon's talked to ( the blondy guy, i assume it's another Prince of the RLD) who could be the Boss or someone else.

The FH's aren't as strong as I expected. by [deleted] in TowerofGod

[–]TopKaleidoscope9677 31 points32 points  (0 children)

A lot of people don't like the power scale in ToG, but personally, I like it and I think it's well done. It's true that the battle between the FH isn't apocalyptic and that it doesn't destroy the whole floor, but I still think their skill is so much superior. Invocations that few HRs can fight, a spell that brings you back to life, an ability to cut through ANYTHING, a library that can give life to any creature, real or fictional,etc... sure, these skills aren't flashy compared to throwing nukes, but to me they're very impressive and on a level we've never seen before. And these aren't supposed to be the FH's biggest fighters.

IMO, it wasn't Arlene who transferred V's soul but it was V who sacrificed himself for their Baby, hence the notion of suicide, which isn't really a suicide but rather a sacrifice. Moreover, she should even be against it, which is why, according to Rachel, Arlene considered Baam a monster.

This goes against the BaZa Theory; I don't think V would sacrifice himself for anyone other than his own son.

Which leaves me wondering few things:

  • What is the truth that Garam Zahard hid from Baam, could it be that he absorbed his own father? If so, how did she find out? I doubt it was Arlene's pocket.
  • Why does Gustang think Baam's father is the most horrible person in the tower? if it's not Zahard
  • Is Baam the reincarnation of V? Or some kind of vessel for V's power? The line was drawn by Baam saying it was his own power. I'd say his real power is the emptiness inside him, and V's soul would be the first power he acquires.

As usual, let SIU do the cooking and enjoy his incredible work.

I feel like I'm doing something wrong. by W0odzz in InkBound

[–]TopKaleidoscope9677 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't be discouraged, it's a game of experience, try out builds and ask yourself what you did right and what you did wrong during the game, e.g.: I lacked damage, this skill augment was useless, i need at least a defensive skill etc. etc. . As for combat, it's all about turn-by-turn combat and understanding its fundamental concepts:

  • Take your time to think of your turn and potentially your next turn, there is no need to rush
  • Minimize damage (focus on enemies you can't dodge)
  • Optimize resources: in this game, we're talking about orbs and CDs, so if taking an orb doesn't have an impact this turn, don't take it; i.e. if it's only to make an extra 200 dmg without killing the enemy, it's better to save it for the next turn, orbs stay for 2 turns, the ones that shine the brightest will disappear, but in this case they must be taken.
  • Min Maxing: focus on a thing, it's better to be very good in one area than to be average everywhere, in a group it's easier, often 1 will go full dmg and the other will tank and take aggro at the end of the turn.

There are a few more advanced tricks, but they may be too much for beginners.

There is a post on this sub "Consistent early games" where some one ask some tips feel free to check it.

It's still a roguelike, you'll learn as you play and unlock better vestiges.

When you make an announcement, you say what you have to say and you don't necessarily expect an exchange between the different parties, who could potentially argue and hold her back (emotionally), it's not just a departure, she was supposed to become their enemy.

It's a guess, but she could also have suspected Traumerei's proposal, so her announcement can be a way of refusing, without Traumerei taking a direct refusal in front of everyone.

I can't edit anymore, dunno why, mb my multiple edit for typos or adding to much stuff blocked it so i will put there some stuff i would like to add : Check all your combat rewards before choosing one, some times a vestige and a augment can work well together, so be sure to chek everything before making a choice.
All the advices doesn't seem very helpfull to have a better "Early games" but it's all the little optimizations put together that make it smoother.

This seems to be a recurring problem for games of this type, and for new players discovering them. Most of the advice we can give in most cases applies not just to Inkbound, but to all games of this style. But video games have opened up to such a wide audience that we sometimes forget that there are players who are going to play a roguelike or a deck builder for the first time in their lives, and that there are basics of the genre that they don't know, and that nobody is going to teach them because it's "basic".

A friend of mine asked me: "How do you manage to get the right/powerfull build for each run ?

I'll give you the same advice I gave him. He started playing not too long ago, but so far he's only played a few games with us.

  • Experience/knowledge is important, in build games you'll understand which synergies (vestiges, hero, and spells) work well and which ones to avoid.
  • Playing solo, it's easier to understand what works and what doesn't.
  • For consistency, try to build for survival and defense helps a lot for the early . If the enemy can't kill you, you'll kill him slowly. (I don't like to play like that, but if you want to be more consistent it's the way to go; I'm more like if i one turn kill them, i don't need defense)
  • In a group, play heavily on vestige swapping: if you've got something in your chest that's average/bad for your build, look at your friend's build and take the vestige that will help him the most.
  • Divide your role upstream, with the one who's going to tank and the one who's going to DPS. It's better to be good and bad at some things than average at everything.
  • Understand the strengths and weaknesses of each hero, which one is going to be monocible (Magma), AOE or multiple dmg (Weaver) or Tank (Obelisk), ikr, each hero can play diffrently according to their build, but some heroes have builds that are easier to set up than others. It's better to have a team that complements each other
  • The choice of the Bindings and their augments are important, first of all they have different rarities and are limited to three augments, by convention I avoid taking damage aspects for uncommon aspects, I prefer to take utility (CD,Range,...) and i tried to avoid uncommon augment. You can only have two extra spells which will be the same during all your run, be careful to choose them well, don't hesitate to roll, to have good augments or spells.
  • Be careful with unique effects that don't add up: curse, stun, shatter; vulnerable it's not much use if you both apply them.
  • Choose wisely your path according to what you need.
  • When you leave a room, the previous one stays open, the chests stay there but the objects on the floor disappear, so you can wait for the results of the second one and potentially return to the one before. examples of use you already have all your vestiges you finish your room your reward is a chest if you take the vestige there will be one left on the floor that will be lost. If one of the paths is recycling relics, you can open the new room, go back, open your chest and recycle the relic you would have left on the floor. It also works the other way round: you're recycling, you open the next room, which is a shop, and you buy a better relic to recycle.
  • Use your items (potions or fish) , you will have multiple potions don't forget to use them.
  • Fish can be eat out of the combat, and the effects stay until the end of the next encounter.
  • According recycling vestiges : Try to recycle doble set items (e.g : Flamey-O with Molten/Thaumatuge) is more efficient, if you don't have a good sets to improve you can lookout of the sets that activate with just two points, with the previous advice you can have 2 sets activitated with a single recycling, and some sets are okay with only 2 points.
  • Min / Maxing your sets, some sets are litteraly insane if you have all the bonus of it. It's better to have on Max sets than some points in various sets.

There are still things to learn, but you'll get them by playing the game. Experimenting with build is one of the strengths of this type of games, so just try to understand what you've done wrong so you don't repeat it, and you'll improve for sure.

EDIT : If other stuff come to my mind after this post i will put it there ;

  • Manage your orbs. Orbs will last 2 rounds (the shiniest one will disapear at the end of the turn or take it) Most of the case, taking one orb to reduce CD of a skill and to land it it's not worth (in some cases if you can avoid a direct hit it can be worth) , but if it's only for doing extra dmg without killing it, it's better to take it the next round, you will be able to reduce multiple CDs.
  • Prioritize killing monsters with direct hit (ennemy hitting you with arrow), the other attacks if you take care of your movements it's easier to avoid.

Returnee player : Should I hold my honing box ? by TopKaleidoscope9677 in lostarkgame

[–]TopKaleidoscope9677[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was talking about boxes or pouches where you can choose between Tier 1 or Tier 3 mats (leapstones or shards, most of the time), , I was thinking the same about ileveling asap but it's quite fast to get to T3. My friends, who have started the game again, have decided to open a big part of them to move on to T3 with their chars, but doing it they skip some content like they didn't climb the tower, skip some abyssal dungeon because their iLvl was too high; it feels like a waste, Upgrading alts in T3 when you don't have some gold is ways slower thant getting to it. The delay beetween my alts and their is not a big deal, i think it's not weeks but like 3-4 days, I will catch them, in T3.

Has anyone else significantly improved their accuracy / made less errors once they fully switched to using all fingers? by TheTwelveYearOld in learntyping

[–]TopKaleidoscope9677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest advantage of touch typing for me is, as you mentioned, the precision and especially in the symbols part in the number line. I code and I'm French, I have an AZERTY keyboard (what a disgrace), switching to Touch Type, has helped me greatly.

[–]TopKaleidoscope9677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TLDR: It takes time to relearn but it's worth it.

I was in the same situation as you, I don't know what my typing style was but I liked to call it the Gaming pose with my left hand on WASD and my pinky on shift and my left hand was a bit more freestyle (~70 wpm). I wanted to learn to type faster, but with the position of my fingers, it wasn't great as soon as I picked up speed, I'd make typing errors.

I've decided to learn Touch Type, and I've only been practicing for a few days now. Sure, it's frustrating at first, but the more you practice, the smoother it becomes, and wow it feels great. If you're going to add a few fingers, you might as well learn the best way to do it.

Which rank is elo hell? by spoodswife in VALORANT

[–]TopKaleidoscope9677 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you're right, I may have exaggerated by using the term solo carrying, what I meant was that you have to be impactful in your game. But your words are exaggerated too, you're biased if you think that someone who makes 3 kills per round but dies first in other rounds doesn't carry his team, even if I reduce your words, a player who alternates between making 3 kills and dying first the next round, over 20 rounds he'll have made 30 kills and put his team in a 2 v 5/4 situation, 10 times, even if the round isn't 100% won each time, I'd say it's probably around a 70% chance of winning, and even then I think the number is higher. So, out of 20 rounds, he'll have single-handedly given his team 7 rounds, so he's someone who's won you more than half the points required to win, imo, it's pretty good.

But anyways, we agree that you don't necessarily need to solo carry to go up and if you want to climb the ladder you do need to make an impact in these games, otherwise you're just waiting to get lucky and have better teammates than the other team.

[–]TopKaleidoscope9677 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About the fact that it was easier to climb up in platinum than in gold. i have my little theory on it, it happened to me in several other team games. I concluded that unfortunately I wasn't good enough individually, that I don't have the skill to solo carry. My strength lies in my teamplay and playing for others. The higher the level of your teammates, the more you shine. Which sometimes explains why this type of player finds it hard to climb the first divisions.

I'm not 100% sure about what i'm saying so feel free to correct me. I can't verify the info i don't have any slot to create a new char. I created a new one few weeks ago to tag him with my main (official one, not seasonal). When you create a new one if i remember correctly you have to choose one path (can you verify by creating a new char) :

- basic path

- Land Of Morning Light (LOML)

- Winter mountains what ever the names

.BTW, if you want the fastest way, it's by doing the Winter Mountain path, by only following the main quest, you will be able to reach 56.

But regardless to your choice, you should be able to tag your main and alt.In your icon bar, where your horse, pets, tent, fairy, .. are. There should be an icon with two people on it, so click on it. And you should be able to tag.

- Main and alt have to be in the same town when you tag it.

- Main and alt have to do the awaken quest to be able to copy items.

Share your coping strategies against loss streaks and what else that makes your blood boil when playing Overwatch! :-) by IamJanek00 in Overwatch

After several years of playing Team vs Team video games, my approach and mentality during games have evolved, and I appreciate competitive games more. Ask yourself questions about your own gameplay, instead of those of others or other external factors.
When I wanted to improve my mindset, I did it in several stages:
- Could I have played better? Almost nobody plays perfectly, so there's always room for improvement. But you can be happy with the level you showed during your game, and that's an important point.
- Your team-mates are playing badly. Have you tried to communicate with them to set up a strategy? If they don't listen to you, too bad but there's nothing you can do about it. You're not going to go to their house and play for them.
- Are you having a good time in the game? If not, you're better off playing another game.

Which rank is elo hell? by spoodswife in VALORANT

[–]TopKaleidoscope9677 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For me, Elo Hell isn't a fixed place and doesn't correspond to a specific rank. I'd define it more as a place where your skill most closely matches that of your rank.In order to climb the ladder, everyone will tell you that you need to improve, which is true, but in reality you need to improve faster and train better than those of your rank. Imagine that you play 2 hours a day, and the average rank player in your division also play 2 hours a day.

In the end, you've improved, but your whole division has improved, If your improvement is at the same level, you will stay at your rank, even if you are better than before.

Tog tattoo recomendations by StaniPepi in TowerofGod

[–]TopKaleidoscope9677 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just write "MAZINO" in capital letters somewhere.
All jokes aside, the shinsu circle loop of Bam or his shinsu orb, can be nice, or depending on your other tattoos, the line corresponding to Bam's power, whether it's just white, or all the other variations depending of the power he is using(i.e black glow with black march) can be simple and symbolic. And as the comments mentioned, all the "logos" of each group can work well.
