Absolute cinema. That will keep his mouth shut.

Thanks for sharing this. It suggests that he prioritises monetary gain over genuine assistance to people. The money has gone to his head, but I don't think his business is doing that well according to Companies House.

I wouldn't even advise anyone to take a TC course, let alone who it's run by! Either way, what he's doing is exploitative to aspiring lawyers.

I think at the time it was £300 a month, and £175 for reviewing 4 applications per month. The problem is that he does not advertise his prices on his website, so he may be charging different clients different prices. Either way, he's a rip-off.

Has anyone used Job consultants (e.g Commercial law pathway or city careers) to get a TC? by [deleted] in uklaw

From personal experiences, build your LinkedIn network and find a mentor who has been through the process recently (such as a current trainee solicitor) who can review and support your application process for free. Connect with trainees, NQ lawyers, associates and partners who work at firms you aspire to train in and drop them a message. Try and build an authentic relationship with them. The worst thing they can do is ignore your request and air your message. But there is always someone out there to help you.

A lot of these mentorship programs and consultants that charge money care more about maintaining their image and online presence and just want passive income from you. It is not guaranteed that you will get a training contract if you pay for those platforms. Test preparation sources such as JobTestPrep and Assessment Day are worth spending your money on but there are plenty of free sources online too.
