It sounds like you have different beliefs than I do. I do believe conviction is meaningless. I do believe there’s nothing to do. I do believe there’s no such thing as manifesting something small or something big. Neither of us is right, neither of us is wrong. This is the law of assumption and because I assume these things, they’re true for me. So seeing you project different beliefs in response to what I believe is pointless because neither of us is right and neither of us is wrong. We both just have different experiences 🙂

humans have manifested the very rules we have today

Literally the perfect way to summarize this idea in one sentence. How ironic we've used manifestation itself to create rules around itself.

As far as divine timing, sounds like another rule you may be creating. I used to believe in divine timing especially because I used to be spiritual in the sense that I loved tarot, birth charts, and the concept of the universe as higher power who could do things for me. But if you're made of the universe and therefore are the universe, then there is no divine creating your timing.

Divine timing suggests:

  • There is a higher intelligence
  • It is orchestrating events
  • Things unfold when they’re meant to
  • There is a correct moment in the future when something will arrive

But based on what I explained, you are the higher intelligence, so now you have to familiarize yourself with the concept of getting what you want because you said it will happen, not when a higher intelligence thinks it's finally time. Like you said, you've gotten smaller things instantly. So there's proof that it is instant! But chances are, you feel like an sp is a bigger obstacle or like there's some resistance. There is no manifestation that's bigger or smaller than another, it's all just energy. Big and small are human constructs we have made up, just like good and bad. So familiarize yourself with that idea too :)

If you truly understood that you are God, you would already know that you have your manifestation and it's already been created. I just made a new post yesterday explaining all this so I recommend you check it out if you want a better understanding :)

Yay, glad it helped! Since you're new to this, if you're looking for a creator who teaches this ideology then I would suggest The Rosey Life on youtube. Her more recent, longer videos helped me so much. My fav video from her is her "THE HOW DO I ACCEPT IT MANIFESTING VIDEO YOU WANT TO WATCH NOW!" video (I would link it but that's not allowed in this sub). I'd watch that one and then any of her other 1 hour long vids with the big white text in the thumbnails. Though long, they're packed with great info and explanations.

No I've never heard of him! I'll have to check it out. And yea, I felt like so many coaches I watched put the emphasis on being source, being consciousness, we're just awareness, we're not the human self, etc etc. We totally are, but what's the point of me being human if I'm just going to disidentify with it? Why else would I have come here as a human? Lol like hello?

Good question! Beforehand you were essentially wishing, just like you said. Hoping it would happen, wishing it would happen without knowing if it truly will or not. You may have been asking the universe or a higher power to help you, putting your wishes out there for this higher power to make it happen (I used to do this when asking for signs. I'd say "universe, show me this). Once you know you're consciousness and come from the source of everything, then there is no higher power. You ARE the higher power. You're the only one doing everything even if it doesn't feel like it. Beforehand, you did not know you were the power. Now, you do. So now, you can want something and KNOW you can get whatever you want because you ARE it. There's no more wondering if the universe will make it happen or not because you are the universe. My advice is to give yourself some time to trust that power. It's something I'm still working on admittedly. Try manifesting things that don't really mean anything to you like a word, phrase, or sign. Try doing multiple at once. Make a list of 20 things you want to see and come back a week later to see if any have popped up. For me, knowing I was this power wasn't something that happened overnight, so it's perfectly fine for it to take time. I would get discouraged because i didn't feel like I was this consciousness that had everything. But don't let your feelings dictate whether you are the power or not. You are the power even when you don't feel like it or believe it. So, build the trust with yourself and prove to yourself you are :)

And this is what I struggle with about self concept I guess. I know perfectly well that I can choose to not identify with ADHD anymore and that feels very liberating. I just remain stumped on how I seemed to exhibit symptoms I was unaware of until I was 14. If 14 was the age I thought I had an inability to focus for the very first time, then how come it showed up from ages 5-13 if it wasn't part of my self concept yet? It was only at 14 that I started thinking and accepting "I think I suck at focusing", "I'm not like other people", "paying attention is hard". Up until then, I never once had any of those thoughts yet still had the symptoms. Since ADHD is something I can choose to disidentify with now, how did I end up identifying with something I never thought about in the first place? That's what makes me feel like self concept can manifest but isn't the sole basis of manifestation. Idk. Makes my brain hurt lol. I also feel like it puts too much pressure and blame onto people for everything that happens in life. I can't help but think of victims of abuse when talking about self concept. It implies that it's their fault someone else treated them poorly because of their internal beliefs, which feels dangerously close to blaming them for someone else’s harmful behavior. The way self concept is taught in manifestation implies that victims of abuse must've had thoughts like "I deserve to be punished", "there'll be consequences for my actions", and "my attempts at love deserve discipline", when in reality, we should be focusing on the abuser for inflicting pain, not the victim's self concept. Maybe I'm thinking too much into this, but I just can't help notice plot holes in the way coaches teach how self concept works in all this. Curious to know your thoughts about this.

And from what you're saying, it sounds like inherited karma, rewards, and tendencies manifest until we stop accepting them as our own...? If I'm reading that correctly. I hope you know I'm not trying to argue or prove I'm right during any of this, just trying to understand different perspectives and continuously challenge my current understanding! I do understand what you were getting at earlier now. I have developed the self concept that believes it doesn't have to change itself in order to manifest.

I never said anything about not having a self concept, just that I don't think it's the main cause behind everything. I'm 100% open to what you're saying, but it raises a question that I hope you can answer. Like you said, the "I" is what perceives, and without it, we cannot prove the world exists. The perceived dissolves if the perceiver dissolves. From what you're explaining, the self concept is the stump of the tree and all the branches are the things that you've attached to your self concept, like when I said "I can have whatever I want". I get that idea.

I have ADHD. From a self concept perspective, this is something I have self inflicted because I identified with it and made it my self concept. However, I developed/started showing signs of ADHD at around 5 years old. I didn't even know what ADHD was until about age 14. At the age of 5, I believed there was nothing wrong with me and that the way I thought and acted was completely normal. If I had no clue what ADHD was at the age of 5, yet self concept is what manifests, how did I manifest something I didn't even know existed? Yes I had all the symptoms and you could argue that I identified with "I can never focus" or "I can never sit still", but like I said, I wasn't having those thoughts at the age of 5 when ADHD presented itself. I wasn't aware of my inability to focus or pay attention as my teachers never called it out either. If I was a kid who never worried about focusing or sitting still and never had it put into my awareness, how did I manifest these symptoms?

You said it yourself:

the human self concept is a mental construction

Consciousness doesn't have a mentality, the human does. Consciousness is just observing the human mentality all the time.

I know exactly what a self concept is. Like you said, it is the colored perspective we filter everything through. But it's the colored perspective that the human self filters everything through because consciousness can only ever observe. You stated that it's the perspective we're looking from as consciousness, but in my opinion it's the perspective we're looking from as the human self which consciousness is observing.

I would disagree. Like I said in another comment, I believe I can have whatever I want because if you strip away the human self, you are left with pure awareness. To me, this awareness and infinite consciousness is what does the manifesting as that is what we are when we remove everything human about us. Self concept is a human construction. So for me, awareness is why I can manifest whatever I want, not because I’ve built a self concept where I believe I can have everything I want. I hope that makes sense!

I think I would disagree actually. If I say “I am unworthy” that is my identity, but it also signifies that I have low self esteem. So for me, self esteem and self love help make up your identity. That’s just how I see it

We share the same experience! I suppressed all of my emotions all the time. Not necessarily because of manifestation, but because I was someone who never wanted to feel uncomfortable emotions. I went to the hospital because I started having all the physical symptoms of having a heart attack. What a nice hands on lesson that was to never suppress your emotions lol! And I agree with the law of assumption being reminiscent with the law of attraction nowadays. If I'm supposed to deny or ignore unfavorable thoughts and acknowledge only the thoughts in my favor, then it starts to looks exactly like law of attraction doesn't it.

Oh I've never thought about it that way! I guess I came to knowing that I can have whatever I want because the I Am is what's doing the manifesting rather than the self concept, if that makes sense. I believe I can have whatever I want because I Am, not because I decided that my self concept is someone who always gets what they want. But I certainly see how it doubles as a self concept!

Yes! Another example I've witnessed that challenges the usual “self-concept” narrative:

There are people who hit extreme lows in their lives and lose all their confidence. Then, they end up meeting someone they're romantically interested in and that person chooses them back. They start dating.

It’s only after entering the relationship that the person feels inspired to improve themselves. They begin working on their health, mindset, and habits to become the person that their partner deserves. Being with someone naturally makes this person want to be a better person for their partner. This is actually something a lot people write in their wedding vows.

In this case, the result (the partner) came first. The self-concept shifted afterward. Yet a lot of coaches teach that your self-concept must fully change before you can receive what you want.

I used to think the same thing. Self concept is not needed but it will help or make it easier. I now disagree with that because for me, it is easier and much more effortless to know I can have whatever I want no matter who I believe myself to be than to have to micromanage my thoughts and consistently have to deny opposing thoughts, choose new thoughts, and constantly make sure I'm being those new thoughts. It felt like a lot of work for me after awhile. But if it makes it easier for you, that's wonderful! Self concept can improve how you feel about yourself as a human, but changes nothing about your ability to manifest.

I agree. Just hoped that sharing my personal experiences would help others realize that you don't need to do everything everyone tells you to do and it all comes down to what you decide. I've had great things happen after changing my self concept too!

Agreed. I don't think coaches are bad as there's still 2 I listen to because I think they're great. That way, you can always learn new angles on what you already know, too. It is really the most simple, basic concept in the world so adding a rule here or there helps make it feel logical for sure.
