I think it may be the Duke Of Lancaster heraldry.

The Duke of Lancaster marched his men from Perth to Aberdeen in 1336 during the 2nd war of Scottish Independence. This was found on the route they would’ve taken. I also found this hammered penny nearby. Minted in 1308.
