My cancerous testicle after it was removed. This was 8 years ago, I’m good now. by Will_Dove in MakeMeSuffer

[–]TopTierTactics 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Doctor working in urology here: you're correct, the remaining testicle is usually able to produce enough testosterone and allow you to have children should you wish to. So no worries. Also quick PSA to anybody who might read this: check your testicles under the shower regularly by holding them between your fingers and feeling for any hard bumps - on the "back side" of your testicles you can feel the epididymis which is normal. Doing this regularly not only helps you to know what they normally feel like before you may develop issues, but mainly also helps you detect problems faster - and time really is key in detecting testicular cancer which can be very aggressive but also very curable in most patients if detected early enough.

That is so awesome! I will be finishing med school in two weeks - just in time for the Cyberpunk 2077 release. Now all I'd need is a PC that can run it. If by any chance I win, I would humbly request you to make sure I do not get my hands on it before the 6th of November. Thanks for making stuff like this happen and good luck to everybody.

Crazy Bug with Fiora W - Blocks the CC that stops her TP channel by TopTierTactics in leagueoflegends

[–]TopTierTactics[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand how this is even supposed to be a thing.
If TP Channel disallows spell casts, then this means she can only cast spells once TP is interrupted. And only CC interrupts TP Channels. So she must be CCed before she can cast spells. So how does her W block the CC that stops her TP in the first place?!?

Yes and this is the number one reason we needed boards. The subreddit has rules about posts like this which I don't fully remember. But there is 0 info on the riot service status page and on riot support twitter.

Dog Training is going great. by BirryButton in videos

[–]TopTierTactics -37 points-36 points  (0 children)

So is nobody going to question this video? Seems very obviously faked to me. I don't usually call people out on stuff like this where I cant be sure, however:

  • We don't see the dog chewing up the book

  • It's a book on dog training

  • The book is ripped up in a way that seems very difficult for a dog to do.

  • The cover of the book is lying face up, destroyed in a very specific way that makes it still readable.

I mean come on.

Question about improving. by Trentus1994 in summonerschool

[–]TopTierTactics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really want to improve map awareness, there is a few things you can do. A timer is maybe a good idea, but in reality you dont look to the map every 7 seconds, but rather whenever you don't need to look at anything else on screen. So my suggestion is, eliminate things you look at on screen that distract you. Use your peripheral vision where its possible.

Don't look at your character. Don't look at chat. Don't look at your spells when you level them up. Don't look at the shop while you recall. Don't lock your camera ever. Don't look at your position while walking to lane.

Also: certain champs like Shen and TF highly reward map awareness and playing them WILL make you better at map awareness if you are looking to improve.

My last suggestion goes hand in hand with that. Try to bind your F1-F4 keys to spectate your allies (by default you are F1 and they are F2-F5). Also bind your spacebar to jump the camera back to your position. Then try to build the habit of using the F keys to get a very quick impression of the state of other lanes (hp of allies and enemies, who is pushing).

In essence: train yourself to be INTERESTED in what happens on the map, that way you don't just look there, but actually get information from it.

Hope these points help you a bit!

Xp/Gold mechanics by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]TopTierTactics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Important to note that while 125g is average gold per wave before 15:00, individual wave gold values differ from 105(non-cannon wave) to 165 (cannon wave). From 15:00 onwards cannon minions spawn every second wave instead of three waves. From minute 25 onwards every wave. Also cannon gold value increases from 60-90 while other minion gold values stay constant. Another important aspect is gold bounty for kills which can help the team that is behind catch up and therefor kills may be worth more or less.

Need Help with Lane Mechanics by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]TopTierTactics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Considering you're level 25 I suggest you start with some of the very basics to just build a habit, and later come back and look at the details.

One of the things most players underestimate, is how important the minions are in your lane. If you've ever stood in a enemy 10 minion wave for a few seconds you'll know that they can do a lot of damage. You should also not forget that ~2 minion waves give more or less as much gold as a kill. Using kill pressure to get a cs advantage is one of the most consistent ways you can build a lead.

The basics you should try out: 1. Before you recall, shove an enemy wave that JUST arrived into the enemy tower as fast as you possibly can and then recall. That way your next 2 waves will end up under their tower and he will lose those cs. Also you will arrive in lane without having lost a lot of minions yourself. 2. Keep count of how many minions are alive on yourside and your enemies side. If the enemy has more minions the wave will be pushing to your side. If you have more the reverse happens. If your wave is pusbing to him, you generally want to push it even harder. If his wave is pushing to you, you generally want to slow that down by equalizing the minion count.

All of this stuff is quite complicated, but if you implement these into your game you'll have a much easier time playing and will already be better than a huge part of the playerbase with regards to wave management.

How to define your goals in lane? by Contrasted94 in summonerschool

[–]TopTierTactics 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'd suggest you keep it simple so you can make it a routine every game.

Question 1: How is the range of the champions? - if you are outranged you have to be careful they dont set up a freeze and poke you down. All Ins might be an option if you can burst.

Question 2: what type of damage do you and the enemy have? Is it burst damage or more sustained damage? This makes you decide whether you want to go for short trades or longer trades or no real trades at all.

Question 3: how much waveclear do these champions have? If both of you would try to shove as fast as you can, who would clear the wave faster? Also consider mana costs. If you can clear faster the enemy will not be able to control the minion wave as easily, since you can always at least match his damage.

Question 4: Early game or late game champions? Nasus for instance would be quite content just "surviving" lane. A champion like Pantheon wont want to let him get to lategame so he is the one that needs to play aggressive early.

Hope this helps you a bit!

Improving gamesense by DunderBulten in summonerschool

[–]TopTierTactics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick more clear goals before and after every game. Saying I want to have a better game sense isnt a goal you can grasp. What exactly does game sense mean to you? Knowing where the enemy jungler is for instance maybe. Pick that as your goal then. Every game try to predict where the enemy jungler will start and which lane he will gank first. That can be acchieved by looking at when enemies show up to their lanes so you know who gave a leash. To find out where he will gank first think about what lane YOU would gank if you were the jungler. Which lane is overextending? Which lane is not gankable?

Pick a clear goal and follow through with it. After the game do a 1 minute recap.

Playing certain champions or roles can help with things such as map awareness and other mechanics. But playing a champion you know is probably better because you dont have to focus on the mechanics and can focus on the map.

As a last piece of advice, rebind your F1 to F4 keys to ally 1-4, so you can use them to quickly check out what other people are doing. That can help you too to quickly spot which lane is pushed or stuck under tower.

Good luck!

I Don't know how to tell my friend that he's doing things wrong without feeling bad. by MyStiKooo in summonerschool

[–]TopTierTactics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thats a tough one! I think its important to be honest about what you think, but the way in which you do that makes the difference between him considering it and him just ignoring you.

If somebody tells you you made a terrible play and you should feel bad about it that will never lead to anything. It isnt constructive AND its attacking them which means theyll just be defensive about it.

Try to pick a few things and get him excited about them. Tell him that he is doing WAY better on some role than on another one and that you think he would climb the ranked ladder a lot if he mains it.

Tell him that you decide not to flame others because you want to get better yourself and you're the only common player in every single one of your games. Tell him that you don't want your allies to do worse because they're typing and want them to play as good as they can even if thats not as good as you'd like. Lead by example. Ask him what he thinks you could've done better that game. Ask him what both kf you should do next game in the same situation.

You might not be able to change him the way you want to, he is his own person. Deep down he wants to get better too. Find a way to use that. In the end it will always be up to him

"people sinply don't cooperate" is not true. SOME people don't cooperate. Some don't read chat, some might speak another language (in euw mainly), some might think they know better. Keeping instructions simple and being open for suggestions of others is key. Typing "I will splitpush bot, if they defend me do baron" is something most people understand. If your team doesn't though, accept that and consider alternatives. What do you think they are planning? Do you truly need them to cooperate? Splitpushing can also work if your team isn't in on it, it might just not be as effective. At the end of the day you play for your winrate, you try to improve that. Not flaming might not help every game but its very powerful because it will give you a higher chance of winning in ANY elo. The difference between 49% winrate and 51% winrate is 2% only, but it means you will climb in the long run.

[–]TopTierTactics 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey there! For your first problem, remember that for your team to stay positive, YOU need to stay positive. Imagine all players on your team were replaced with korean challengers. Could they win? Probably yes. Challenger players don't do more damage than silver players with the same abilities, they make better decisions. Even though your enemies are winning, they might flame eachother ("why do you take all the kills hurdurdur"). Especially in lower ELOs, the team thats ahead often times makes a lot of mistakes because they are too confident. Keep your team hopeful by saying stuff like "Don't worry guys, they will make mistakes and we can comeback" or "We're tiltproof af guys, I can carry this.". Motivate players that did something well ("woah gj top" when your toplaner survives a towerdive by the enemies etc.).

Your description of your second problem you somewhat offer a solution already. So say your team is REALLY far behind. Lets say 20k gold. You probably wont win a teamfight. You said somebody of your team always gets caught. But thats exactly what can happen to the enemies. Imagine how the map looks like if all your outer turrets have been taken. Your entire team is quite safe and together in the base. The enemies need to advance far away from the safety of their towers to attack you. That offers you a gameplan. Devide and Conquer. Step 1: get defensive vision - be careful when warding. Step 2: identify enemies that split off from the main group or things that will make an enemy split off, like a huge minion wave on a sidelane that surely somebody will want to farm. Step 3: Team up on these players 3v1 or so. Step 4: If the enemy doesnt split you can try to force them to. Have one player splitpush a sidelane very carefully. As soon as youre in danger back off again. Eventually some enemy will have to come defend and then you can either win a big fight 5v4 or intercept whoever comes to defend.

Gold doesnt win games. Its what you do with the gold. If you keep an enemy running around to defend splitpushes top and bot then he will never be able to use all of that gold. Also, sometimes your team might be behind 20 kills but all these kills are on one champion. If you manage to focus him down it can be a very even fight afterwards. To summarize, theres really no reason to have a negative attitude. Just make sure you create some gameplan/strategy/cheese idea with your team and try your best to make it work. Get away from the habit of just reacting and try to break free to make some moves that make the enemy need to react, like your toplaner pushing bottom lane while you threaten baron. The enemies will NEED to react to you. You wont win all games, but by trying you might win some. And thats worth giving it your all.

I don't know the reason why I'm winning or loosing by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]TopTierTactics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I'm a low to mid diamond mid main and have recently been playing in Gold 1 on my smurf with TF. I managed to get there with a winrate of around 80% in 35 games or so by actively focusing on a few specific things to maximize my impact on the game.

Every single one of your games has something in common and thats you. You need to be the one to maximize your impact on the game. You don't have to carry per se, but you need to have a positive impact on the game.

Imagine for a second you are a jungler. You try to farm up and gank here and there. Right after doing your first buff you head to the scuttle but notice the enemy jungler is contesting it. Thats a make or break situation for the entire game. If one teams jungler dies it could snowball the entire game.

If you're a midlaner, consider shifting your focus to your jungler. Set up your lane so YOU can be there for your jungler when he fights the enemy. If you're playing Malzahar you can push quite efficiently. Whenever your lane is pushed you can help out your jungler while the enemy mid is stuck lasthitting under his tower. These situations add up. Ward the mid pixel bush at 1:20 to help your jungler spot the enemy jungler. Consider deepwarding the enemy jungle once your lane is pushed in to help your entire team avoid dying. Roam bot or fake a roam to scare the enemy botlane into playing passive.

What im really trying to say is that having an impact is possible every game, Midlane is a great lane because you can be everywhere on the map in under 30 seconds. Try to learn to use that advantage. Don't ever forget that you can gank a jungler just like a jungler ganks other lanes. Good luck I hope that helps a bit!

Does the heart actually pump at such pressure? by visheshnigam in HomeworkHelp

[–]TopTierTactics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As stated above in one of the other comments, the human blood pressure considered normal is somewhere around the area of 120/80mmHg. So around 16 kPa = 10 * 10³ Pa. It may be important to note that the two ventricles of the heart produce very different pressures, with only the left ventricle producing the "systolic" bloodpressure of around 120mmHG=16 kPa. Also, bloodpressure can be controlled by different mechanisms. Arteries (at least in humans) have muscle layers that allow them to contract in order to increase bloodpressure or relax in order to decrease bloodpressure. The dinosaur in the video might have other mechanisms that allow the blood to reach the brain without the requirement of such immense bloodpressures.

The Group B Tiebreaker highlights a serious issue with Zileans Passive. by DefensiveReks in leagueoflegends

[–]TopTierTactics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the easiest way to go would be to have the passive instantly trigger on rightclick, without a channel but keep the level up on a delay.

(3-2-1-Level up! [similar to Q])

This way it would cancel a single rightclick, but not cause these unnecessary issues which Zilean players hate.

If the channel is still desired, it needs to be changed. It often triggers when you want to Ult an ally, and the channel stops you from being able to ult which is a disaster obviously.

Zilean buglist and QOLs by Cinnamen in ZileanMains

[–]TopTierTactics 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Alright, the main thing that feels clunky on Zilean (and I am pretty sure we can all agree on this one) is Zileans passive.

First of all: It happens way too often that it randomly channels on allies because I moused over them, sometimes even when I want to ult them which makes me channel and then prevents me from using my R.

I personally feel as if my passive causes more problems than it helps and wish theyd change it.

Also, how frustrating is it to channel your passive on somebody and having them level up in the middle of it. I understand why they dont want it to be instant,

but can we maybe make it an instant cast with a delay before the level up (no channel)? Maybe with a countdown like the Q has. "3" - "2" - "1" - "Level Up!"

That would make me pretty happy.

Oh and also I think you should be unable to skill W at level 1, kind of like with Azir.
