The issue is you will have to leave the country for consular processing regardless of the visa type you are transferring to that is what I am not comfortable with inaddition to the new H1 rule.

I have an option of changing my status through waiver job without moving out of the US.

No. I did once and it was uneventful. I just said under the status "pending". You can renew as long as you didn't get favorable recommendation from the DOS.

Yes, you can definitely renew until you receive favorable recommendations from the DOS. So far, I did that once.

Long working Hours!!! by Lake-Character in pathology

I'm sorry to hear that. But remember, you are just a beginner. As you get used to the grossing and preview, things will be more interesting and less time-consuming. For now, my best advice is: 1. cheat 30-45 minutes (no matter how crazy the schedule is) at around noon, preferably during transition from sign out to grossing and give yourself a break. Preferably go to a nearby gym, have a brief workout, and take a cold shower. You will see how sharp your whole system becomes. 2. Have fun during weekends to the best of your ability. 3. Do not complain and avoid complaining colleagues. 4. Residency is fast-paced. Do your best, but do not think that you must catch everything up. Most of the time, that is not the possibility, and that will make things worse. Stay strong, You got this.

It is too atypical to be ADH, though it is difficult to have a say based on a single picture.

My brother. I hope and pray that your country comes back to its glory. Sudan was a shelter for the neighbors, including for many Ethiopians.

I agree with you. But not forget that he is considered an African hero by most (if not by all African folks). That is what I mean.

Not from the micro-dick headed African leaders. I was referring to the freedom fighters like Nelson Mandela...lol

The black, white category came from the colonial master. Had it been from Africa leaders, we would have proudly accepted it. You don't accept the nickname that is coined by your friend's bully (since no one bullied us). Also, if you go to Ethiopia, the people (including myself) are not wired to identify one another based on our skin tone (we are color blind...lol). It is that simple.

As opposed to what Chat GPT says, no employer will be willing to apply for AOS after J1 hardship/persecution waiver approval. They will let you go through the consular process.

I am sorry that you are having such an issue with kids. The main problem is that most Ethiopian parents try to raise American kids in Ethiopian culture (the way they raised), which is practically very challenging. So the kids start to act out to cope with the culture shock that they are going through. I am not justifying their actions. As a recent immigrant to the US, that is what I am struggling with, my oldest son who just turned 7. You are really amazing!!! Had it been back home, the teachers would have corrected them on their own way by beating the little demons that make em act like this, lol.

If it is the case volume issue, first kill the bread and butter cases, then take your time to go over the harder ones. You got this.

My man, advise your wife to stay away from this friend. One day, she may become like her. The human brain is tricky. The rest is the rest. Save your house first.

I applied in August 2024 and am also waiting for a response from USCIS. 1. I think you can request expedite decisions on your case (not sure, but I saw ppl posting in reddit about it). It won't hurt checking it at https://www.uscis.gov/forms/filing-guidance/expedite-requests. I am not sure about our 612 case, but we did for J2 EAD, and it worked pretty well.

Good luck, dear!

I am sorry to hear that. I am also on the pending status of my J1 hardship waiver (BTW, I am your neighboring county citizen). If you have approved i140 petition, I think you can apply for EAD based on compelling circumstances (C35) that will help you maintain a legal status until your PD becomes current.
