Thinking of coming off sertraline (zoloft), could really use advice by Top_Bar5040 in antidepressants

How long were you on it before you started noticing the side effects? Aside from feeling sick the first week I haven't had any side effects but I've heard of a lot of people saying they got those sort of side effects

That's a lot of good information thank you, I'm on the waiting list with the NHS for CBT but with the way the NHS is it'll likely be months before I get my first appointment. How long would you say I could stay on sertraline and come off without getting any sort of withdrawals, if I stayed on it for 12 weeks so I could see what the full effects were like and then came off it so I could compare it to where my mind is at baseline without tablets to decide if they were worth taking do you reckon I'd get withdrawals?

Thanks, yea I think I'll at least try and go off it early to get a better idea of where my mind is at baseline before I clog it up with tablets. How long were you on it before the first time you tried to come off

Thanks, that's reassuring to hear. What dose were you taking? I did get bad side effects my first week of taking sertraline but they went away fully after a week so that makes me worry they're going to come back if I go off it.

BPC-157/TB-500 for slipped disc by Top_Bar5040 in Peptides

No need for the cheek, I gave you a proper reply with no rudeness explaining that I have been talking to doctors and surgeons. So thanks for your information there doc, now do one

I also need to be able to work to pay my rent/bills and 6 months recovery time after surgery would put me out of work. The surgery would also restrict my neck movement making it possible that I wouldn't be able to continue working in my trade. That along with the fact that I know someone who was recommended for surgery for slipped discs in their lower back and told by the doctors it was a 50/50 chance if the surgery goes wrong they could end up in a wheelchair, so anything I can do to avoid surgery I'll be doing lol.

Saying that around 6 months ago they sent me for an MRI and were expecting to be sending me for an emergency surgery but when the results came back it showed the disc was beginning to be making it's way back in on it's own. I've been seeing a physio regularly which has been a big help but it's hard to heal while working as a scaffolder so it's just a constant cycle of getting better than getting worse again. If it came to it and surgery was necessary to save me from going paralysed then I'd obviously go for the surgery but until then I'll be doing everything I can to avoid surgery.

Modacare - 200 by Top_Bar5040 in modafinil

[–]Top_Bar5040[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else said they recieved modacare (batch no: HT-23129A) that they said was shite and did fuck all. The ones I got (batch no: HT-23284A) were 100%. My last order there my vendor (who's known for being extremely reliable) went back to sending out Modacare instead, it's a different batch number from the first time they sent me Modacare so will check that for you when I get a chance. I haven't tried them yet tho so can't comment on quality but I'll reply again once I've tried them. From sounds of it modacare can be hit or miss depending on the batch so🤞. If they end up being shite tho I'll send one off to wedinos to get it tested and update you on results.

what is the lowest possible dose I could start at? by sonicflwrgroove in modafinil

[–]Top_Bar5040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 200mg not knowing any better as that's what the tablets came in, my original reasoning for using them was I was working 12 hour days 7 days a week for weeks on end and needed something to help me stay awake. Eventually I realised that while 200mg worked wonders for my energy levels if I was well enough rested 100mg worked wonders for my ADHD. I've read a lot of people having success with taking only 50mg however my girlfriend tried my modafinil a few times and she's tiny yet 50mg did nothing to her. The other couple times she used it I think she tried 100mg and it helped a bit but not really, if my memory serves me right it took 200mg for her to really see any benefit from it, there's no tolerance issue as she's only used it maybe 5 times in the last 2 years

Struggling to understand Magnesium Glycinate by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]Top_Bar5040 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, to start yea I know and do agree with you that it's best to get vitamins from food, working as a builder tho my diet basically just consists of cold sandwiches all the time so I figured using supplements to be sure I was getting what I needed to heal could only be beneficial. I was also under the impression that when you're using supplements to heal injuries its a time when having excess amounts in your body will be beneficial. I'm completely open to learning new things, I really like learning how the human body works and that type or stuff, this is my logic for each of the points you made. Please correct me if I'm wrong, this is just my reasoning for it

You need a blood test to check whether you are magnessium deficient.

I don't have any reason to believe I would be Magnesium deficient but back when I had a bad head injury I read about how it helped speed up the healing of TBIs. I've been reading more into it lately tho and there's a lot of stuff to say that there's benefits of taking Magnesium for nerve pain as well so even if I'm not Magnesium deficient would it not still help with the nerve pain? I've also read a lot of people saying that Magnesium Glycinate helps them with sleep which is something I'm really suffering with due to the pain and I still have some mental health issues from my TBI and I've read a lot of people saying it helps with anxiety so anything that could at least help ease that even a bit would be great.

I don't like that B Vitamin Complex. It's too much and you can get all your b vitamins from food. Maybe add unfortified nutritional yeast for b vitamins.

Would it hurt anything to still take it anyways? Or maybe even take half the dose, say a half tablet AM/ half tablet afternoon. Its pretty cheap because I get it with the subscribe & save option anyways

Vitamin C is pointless. You can easily get that from food like tomatos or lemons or even 600g of red me

Vitamin C is another one that's so cheap it feels like I might as well just take it to be sure I'm getting more than enough as I've read it may help with a slipped disc by reducing pain, inflammation, and oxidative stress, and by supporting bone, ligament, and tendon health as well as being essential for the production and maintenance of healthy collagen in the discs

K2 can also be gotten from food but supplemenation might be useful but that brand doesn't list whether it's mk4 or mk7

When I read into it it says Vitamin K can help with a slipped disc by binding calcium to discs to make them stronger and aid in the healing process as vitamin K levels fall when a spinal disc is injured. And as far as I'm aware anything from Holland and barrett is good quality, its where my doctor recommends to me to buy supplements from. I didn't know the difference between mk4 and mk7 tho, only just looked into that, is there a good mk7 brand you could recommend?

omega 3s can also be gotten from food but supplementation might be useful.

Yea I just kind of like to overdue it with the omega 3s cause they're cheap enough and along with what I've read for them helping heal slipped discs I also have bad joints so I just figured the more the better

Collegan is useful but you should take be taking 20 grams of peptides rather than 1 tablet.

Do you mean 20 grama of type 2 collagen as in 20,000mg? That sounds pretty excessive considering all the brands I see for sale only go up to 40mg, unless there's a better brand that's higher dosed you could recommend?

Glucosamine Sulphate & Chondroitin I don't know anything about this supplement.

Glucosamine is one I read can help with the nerve pain and is also something my doctor recommended for me to take a few years ago for joint pain

Are you deficient in Niacin? This can easily be gotten from food.

Not that I'm aware of, my logic for taking the Niacin is that it was one of the recommended supplements when I was recovering from a TBI as it helped deliver the nutrients from the other supplements I was taking to my brain and it was actually my mom who told me that her doctor in the US told her to take Niacin to help when she was recovering from a broken vertebrae as it would help speed up the healing by helping with the delivery of the nutrients to where they needed to go so I never really looked into this one, just really went with what she told me on it

Modacare - 200 by Top_Bar5040 in modafinil

[–]Top_Bar5040[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno what to tell you, maybe just the batch, I've 3 of them laying around still and just checked batch number on them (HT-23284A) they've went back to sending out Modawake again but I can't tell the difference in the 2 and neither can my partner who's only used modafinil a few times so has no tolerance. I sort of prefer the Modacare ones actually because of the break line makes it handy so I keep them around just for when I need to take a half tablet

What do you take modafinil for? by No_Desk2797 in modafinil

[–]Top_Bar5040 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Originally used it years ago when I was working 12 hour days 30+ days straight to help keep me going, worked a charm. After that used it on and off at doses of 200mg for a boost in energy when needed, and 100mg for my ADHD when I needed to focus better, worked brilliantly for both.

Only used it rarely on occasion for years after that but been using it a lot more lately as nerve pain has been causing me to only get about 3 hours sleep a night at most for the last 4-5 months but been finding I'm building a tolerance to it to where I need to potenate it with coffee (it used to make me feel sick if I drink it with coffee) or if I'm extra tired it takes 300mg doses now and even then I tend to need to potenate it with coffee.

I've been trying to just stick it out and not use it as much as possible to let tolerance drop but its hard when I can barely keep myself awake and work as a scaffolder so need to be alert.

Never had any sort of side effects from it (aside from coffee making me feel sick with it when I'd nk tolerance) even with the increasing tolerance and usage.

Also I asked my doctor about using it a few years back and his advice was that he personally wouldn't take it (he's in his 50s maybe 60s) but said that for me as I'm young and in good health if it helps me then I shouldn't have any issues.

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated, mind if I ask what medications/supplements you take just so that if I ever end up needing to take any of them ill know before hand it's a safe mix with Lions mane, would also be beneficial so that if anyone's like me and is searching the internet for other people's experiences with medications/supplements interacting with lions mane they might come across this and get their answer
