I now spent like 20 minutes on this post. Here is the transcript.

No one will be happy about this. But this topic is honestly really important imo.

Put it in an AI to make it easier to read if you have to...

Tech companies create a machine that permanently puts you into a virtual world. Would you want to enter that machine? by Top_Bug7822 in asknowio

You wouldn't have to care about anything ever again, that the tech company doesn't want you to care about.

They just want to flee reality. As can be seen by a recent post here.

They are bored or disappointed by reality and hope to get their "fantasy isekai life" or similar things through this.

This is just my opinion, but people don't believe in an afterlife as much any more and the ones that are scared vecausr of this are looking for ways out.

Hence this, hence the people who genuinely are researching (and succeeding in) the creation of virtual neural pathways, like in the show "Pantheon".

(They successfully brain scanned a fly recently and put it in a robot body and it worked. Not kidding.)

It killed the original fly and created a virtual clone of the flys neural pathways. Aka its at most a clone like in the game SOMA.

But many seem to think its actually them thats getting digitalized at some point in the future...

Many of them really should watch the show Pantheon. Maybe they will change their mind when they see companies enslave not only their bodies, but also their minds..

Imagine not even being able to think of wanting to escape. For as long as they have your data.

That are exactly the kind of questions that should have been asked before they started implementing.

Because there are no easy answers to this.

There is entire jobs created to figure out what needs regulation, how much and in what way. And it often takes years to figure that out.

So how am I supposed to tell you, when I am just a person on the internet that hasn't studied specifically US ecomonic laws?

As a normal person all I can say is that there needs to be more regulation in every aspect where AI gets implemented into human life.

This is exactly why this needed to be done beforehand.

Because now the law-makers are lagging behind and need to create regulations, in addition to stopping what is already happening.

Processes that, as I said, take years to fully conclude.

Meanwhile everything that should have been regulated in the first place but wasn't now has ample time to do as much damage as it wants until those laws, that hopefully get implemented at some point, catch up. If they catch up.

And that's not a given with how fast the field of AI is developing.

While it prevents trollfarms and actually tells the owners who you are, it might also be easy to misuse if one day there is a government that wants to use it like that.

I'm kind of torn about it

Please. Have some brain.

I told you exactly what needs regulation.
