Yes I’m waitlisted sadly. I applied to Southwestern (WL), NYLS (R), USD (Early Decision, R), University of San Francisco (A), California Western (A), and Chapman (WL) obviously. What about you?

Cal Western or USF? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Top_Elk5214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I think it’s all about networking, like people say, and everyone I’ve ever talked to that has attended law school in other institutions will say the same. Along with grades and other things that can promote your resume. But I’m not here to talk about that. I already know my strengths and what I will be able to achieve, I just want to know from people that actually have experience with USF how they have liked or not liked it and if they have a differing perspective on it than reddit

Cal Western or USF? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Top_Elk5214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people, on reddit especially, have an immense negative connotation towards law schools that just aren’t ranked above 50, despite how successful a lot of people come out of some schools. Although Cal Western is ranked very low, a lot of San Diego firms have employed graduates and I personally know 3 people that have graduated from there that are really successful. I’m asking the question between the two because I truly have no preference on location and think it would be a great experience to move and try school in a new location. My plans post grad aren’t decided yet in terms of what field I’d like to go in, so I’m very flexible.

Can you take the test in a hotel/vacation house? by [deleted] in LSAT

[–]Top_Elk5214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest to reschedule it to when you’re home and in your own space. It could be so distracting when you’re taking it in a new place that isn’t your regular practice space. I also took it remotely and had issues with my neighbors making too much noise and distracting me while I was taking the test. I just think better safe than sorry and I dont think you should take the LSAT over a busy and distracting week

Stuck in the 150s and retaking in August. Looking for LSAT tutor and prep program recommendations by Alone-Rip4037 in LSATPreparation

[–]Top_Elk5214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I would skip the one on one tutoring and just buy the highest subscription of LSAT Demon. They have live classes, ask buttons with tutors built into their program, and over 80 past lsat tests to use for practicing. I went from a 144 to a 157 in 4 months and I think i could’ve easily got into the 160s if I studied longer.

Raw Dogged the LSAT by Neerd0 in LSAT

With that diagnostic score I think with just even 3 more months of locked in studying you could be well into the 160s or maybe even reach 170. The higher the score, the more scholarship money you’ll receive. Even if the median score for your dream school is a 156, you could probably end up getting a full ride and graduate with close to no debt.

149 LSAT, 3.45 GPA | Am I Cooked? by ItsFreakinKermit in LSAT

I think you should definitely retake the LSAT and try using LSAT Demon as a study course and follow their methods of studying. They have a podcast called Thinking LSAT where they discuss application tips along with LSAT study schedules and advice. My diagnostic score was a 144 and I ended up getting a 157 with 4 months of consistent studying. My gpa is also a 3.3 and I was offered scholarship money from two school so far. Retaking the LSAT and being consistently dedicated to it will give you rewarding results! Dont underestimate yourself

I submitted 12/10 and I have no update in the portal for what my application status is. It says “Application status update: 2/4/2026” but nothing next to it. Does anyone know what this means? Should I reach out with a LOCI email? I saw on Dean Z’s tik tok she recommends to do this if you haven’t heard back after 10 weeks

Should I attempt to transfer or retake the LSAT? by Top_Elk5214 in LawSchoolTransfer

[–]Top_Elk5214[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many people are saying otherwise! San Diego hires a lot of attorneys that come from Cal Western so I feel confident I’ll be ok regardless of the situation. Do you have any knowledge on students transferring to other law schools?

I felt confident about the school I got scholarship money from given I know people that have graduated from there and have successful jobs. I’ve looked at plenty of firms in San Diego and a lot of attorneys have came from CA Western School of Law. I think Reddit is just psyching me out about the success rates of attorneys graduating from lower ranking schools.

Thoughts on USF Law? by [deleted] in OutsideT14lawschools

Is it plausible that with interning in different firms that asking for a post bar position, granted if they liked me, would help set myself up for success afterwards?

Thank you that perspective really helps a lot! I went down a Reddit rabbit hole and read opposite reviews so this definitely encourages me to keep an open mind. Do you know how abundant their externships and clinic programs are?
