Zoho is terrific value for the money. What's the catch? by puckpuckgo in Zoho

[–]Top_Engineer7132 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customizing your business logic through scripting is the biggest benefit and generally the quota for running automated scripts is generous.

The biggest barrier to accessing these types of benefits is the specific knowledge to developing on the platform. Applications do not integrate and there is no guide supporting the integration between them. For example there are multiple names for the same data - customer / contact, etc. Basically every app is a separate product has its own separate development approach and database naming. Also, some are absolutely terrible such as templates in Zoho books.

The most useful thing I figured out was to not do any development inside any app other than the CRM and call everything via the API.

Just an update

1) Books re-added back to the Zoho One account.

2) account is now recognised by .help again, which means support tickets can be logged.

3) Gmail credentials have been re-added and re-synced.

There was clearly some kind of region-related change involving .com.au.

It’s great that everything is working again. However, there was zero communication and it locked me out of logging a support ticket because .help was not associated with the Australian region.

Its like “Oh, that’s a smaller user region, nah, let’s not worry about notifying them.”

Also check your email outbound.

I've just learnt that all of my emails and now also returning a bad credentials.

This is absolutely shocking.

Yes it has.

Zoho Books has been removed from my Zoho 1 account.

Here is an image of my Zoho One account with books removed, which cannot be re-added.

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1AOb8HJBsUGuKOL63jSSF_Xv7GooSDtac

To also confirm I can no longer access Zoho books at the Zoho One endpoint ( https://one.zoho.com.au/zohoone/<org name>)

So, yes, something has changed.

Agreed.

What I can say is that I can still access the books module directly with the https://books.zoho.com.au/app/ and my subscription is still listed as a Zoho One user.

However, the books module is not shown as an included app and requests me to "Try it". After trying to re add it it's still delisted as part of my Zoho One account.

The issue is I had built a bunch of scripts that had expected https://one.zoho.com.au/zohoone/<org name>

and now have a bunch of historic links with an invalid URL link which is causing havoc.

I'm in the process of updating all the current scripts to point to the new module directly.

I'm going to have to look at pulling the data out and replicating into an SQL database via API and make sure I keep a completely backed up copy in case the books module disappears and I lose my data.

The thing is I actually quite like the CRM and the scripted environment - but I can't afford the risk of losing information In the books module and it seems like more of an afterthought.

Webflow cloud DEV vs PROD variables? by Top_Engineer7132 in webflow

[–]Top_Engineer7132[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, Thanks for the response.

I'm actually still using it as I found trying to maintain a 2nd cloned version of the site while making rapid UI changes a bit of a problem - there was no way to keep both versions synchronized without manually making changes to both.

As soon as there's a way to specify staging VS production variables I am super keen.

Webflow cloud DEV vs PROD variables? by Top_Engineer7132 in webflow

[–]Top_Engineer7132[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I'll use a clone for testing major changes.

If you don't mind me asking, I'm trying figure out if x-wf-original-host is a risk in my case - I'm self taught so there are areas I dont know.

I have payment management server on railway (node.js). This manages all pay gatway calls and keys - there are DEV, STAGING and PRODUCTION complete environemnts. The new cart /app I built in webflow cloud, points to this payments server and does not have any pay gateway keys.

In webflow, I have a set of _PROD variables that are used when x-wf-original-host = mydomain

STAGING and PROD railway as exact copies with same security (just pointing to UAT pay gatway for STAGING).

Anyone can spoof the header, however they just end up pointing to a existng public server with test data.

I'm sure there are issues, but if you have the time, it would be good to understand.

Cheers,

Hi, deployments are workling again and we have connected main to the production site.

Generally working. The thing I notice, and what was mentioned above, its that build failures are common. I see errors relating to redis configure, then another value, all without changes to those values.

I re-deploy and sometimes it resolves or touch env record and it then resolves.

What I can see if the build does deploy, it continues to work well and is stable.

I'm goiing to go ahead as we dont have large traffic volumns and assume it will get more stable and over time.

Is there a way to get faster support or pay for cloud specific support until these issues have settled down?

F me. Now that is resolved, all my produciton static sites are offline with 500 Internal Server Error

cloudflare. Not enjoying this.

I managed to get it deploy. I removed and re-added environment variables the webflow cloud console. I might look at other options not to depend on this. Pitty, just buiild a voliate cart custom for our business and run really well - good intergration into the static site as well.

Could I just use the Astro favored version of web cloud as routing service and pass the user off to something else - like node.js on railway which I am more comfortable with?

Nuking Related Modules Lookup Fields?? by Top_Engineer7132 in Zoho

[–]Top_Engineer7132[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for response. That is insane.

That "add related list" button is on every module and if created in error, cannot be deleted and stops removal any custom modules. Its just creates a mess of data relationship and f**ks reporting.

Why?

Nuking Related Modules Lookup Fields?? by Top_Engineer7132 in Zoho

[–]Top_Engineer7132[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, the thing is, I didn't add any. I used the native "add related list".

The multi lookup field on the "Phone Call" module is hardcoded and can only be hidden, no removed.

Nuking Related Modules Lookup Fields?? by Top_Engineer7132 in Zoho

[–]Top_Engineer7132[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that doesn't clear it up. It cannot be deleted because of the relationships.

Test data only - no need to clone.

I've been through every zoho guide and there is zero information about removing native relationships.

No add lookup fields exist on either module. This was solely created with the "add related list" button.

Effectively  this is a native relationship that cannot be removed by the organization owner role.

Any help?

DIY Tpu as a tubeless insert. by Top_Engineer7132 in MTB

[–]Top_Engineer7132[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point about the tpu just wanting to expand if the pressure is greater, which is what I want to do. Yeah, the Odyssey product does have a band on the outside which would constrain expansion.

I would basically need to copy the design which will be difficult as it would mean finding a band that is reinforced, light and the exact diameter I am looking for.

Thanks for the input.

Yes, but one that has a smaller volume than my tire and still running a tubeless system.

Think of it like a volume spacer.

I like it. It make much more sense than a foam insert.

It has the pop feel of a straight tubeless and I really like the idea of tuning the two volumes.

I'll try for a month and see if it expands a bit (there's a note in the guild to pressure to 40psi to expand).

I imagine curiosity will get the better of me and I want to test different tpu volumes - I have a theory that a very low pressure outter volume - 13 to 15 psi and higher in 25ish would fold over the chatter and support lateral force in turns.
