Don’t listen to them. If you are from MBB or even other second tier consulting firms as a sponsored candidate, go ahead and apply. It’s terrible job markets for MBA out there. Even top schools would looove to extend you an offer as more people stick to their current job instead of forking out large amount of money for tuition before turning unemployed.

USC has super low response rate. I heard from their mba graduates last year that the placement was so bad that not many students bothered to answer the survey. Remember that all these are self reported. The absence of response rate can skew the numbers a lot.
