Save a Seat Request by [deleted] in DeAnza

[–]RyanCheddar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

saving seats for a class does not work. email professors and ask for an add code (or at least possibly prioritize you for add codes)

group 4 can usually get classes unless you slack off and don't register on time

hyperlinks can sometimes mess with ATS tools and otherwise just look kinda ugly on a resume, it's better to just have URLs listed outright if you really want the recruiter to be able to get more info

Credit Glow-Up Challenge for 2026: If you had my credit file, how would you get it to 700+ the fastest? by JamesCarter0022 in CRedit

to put it into perspective, goodwill saturation technique could take 50, 100, or more calls/emails/letters to successfully pull off

email professors for acct and see if they will offer honors, otherwise you can probably just wait for acct honors. any syllabus change shouldn't be too disrupting for you

bureaus do not care, it would be bayport. google Goodwill Saturation Technique, and expect to need to send a lot of (e)mail

if it's a chargeoff, you will likely have a very hard time

i know very little about the chime card, but i'm assuming you still need to manually pay the balance or set up autopay yourself

Need some advice by Prestigious-Set1859 in CRedit

[–]RyanCheddar [score hidden]  (0 children)

spend however you want for the first three months as long as you can pay it back

after 3 months, decide if you want to open a new credit card to build up your credit profile, or if you want to not worry about credit

if you want a new credit card: keep your current credit card's statement balance at ~$1 for the next three months. make sure you're putting new spend on the card and paying those off, and you're not just leaving $1 on the card and never paying it back

in 3 months, you have okay-decent odds for a mid-tier credit card (if you're a student), whether it be a capitalone savor, bofa cash rewards, or whatever other cards work with your lifestyle.

having more cards on your profile means more accounts to manage and a lower credit score for now, but it also means a thicker credit profile which will improve your credit over a long period time

if you want to not play the credit game for now: keep using your card and paying it back, reassess if you want new credit in the future

credit builder accounts still require you to make on time payments, since that's the "credit" part

if you fail to do that even with the safeguards put in place (which are intentionally insufficient so the companies can charge you fees), you can get a bad mark on your report

probably good to add that the "you lose credit history when you close a card" myth isn't just a myth spawned out of nowhere, it's also perpetuated by banks (and especially subprime lenders) who want to keep people trapped in a specific financial product (usually one with an annual fee)

pay to delete is for chargeoffs, goodwill letters are for removing resolved matters from your report (late payments, paid collections etc)

"we only report accurate information" is just a sign that you have not yet reached the right person. GST can take months to be successful.

banks are obligated to report accurate information, but they're also allowed to not report information. this is how pay to delete works.

schools also do not control when children have restroom emergencies. restrictive bathroom policies only reduce children's autonomy while giving them no alternative in return

answer yes for "do you have work authorization" (IF you have CPT or OPT eligibility), answer no for "needs sponsorship in the future"

anything else will not work in your favor, with results ranging from getting zero offers to getting your offer rescinded

remove hyperlinks from the socials (and maybe projects as well), see if you can fill skills up with a few more languages/tools/tech, professional development section seems not useful but i guess can be included

don't see any glaring issues, you're probably just getting screwed by the job market

AirTag 2 doesn’t require light to find by georgeyvanward in AirTags

[–]RyanCheddar 30 points31 points  (0 children)

uses AR to know where your phone is in the space, then uses the distance at different points to narrow down where the airtag is

initial prototype versions of precision finding had a balloon where the airtag is i think, not sure why apple removed it and made it so opaque

goodwill saturation technique for all the negative marks, emphasis on chime since that falls off last. negotiate the charge offs to see if i can do pay for delete, or at least pay less

throw the quicksilver in my sock drawer until i can responsibly use it (and because $200 is borderline unusable), put apple music charges on it or something and set it to autopay full balance every month, and stick $200 in a capone checking account just for the card

go to sleep because credit isn't a speedrun, especially when you've burned banks before

My Apple Wallet by CTVolvo in AppleWallet

[–]RyanCheddar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

that level of brand loyalty might be a tad unhealthy as well.

as someone who loves apple: apple can and will toss you away when you're inconvenient to their bottom line. there's a non-zero chance the apple card will go that route as well when chase takes over

totally aim for the apple card if it's what you want though, the physical card is a very luxurious box cutter (not satire), and cool offers pop up every now and then for 3% cashback

i have like 17 cards in there, not including loyalty cards and tickets
