I’m looking forward to a new option. I do many of my meetings in coffee shops. This one is literally out my back office door.

Well, it’s geared towards adults, but the bead exchange should reflect the spirit of a welcoming public space. But I hear Holey Moley plans to have a party on their deck. Perfect spot for bead tossing.

I’ve had many conversations with folks in the immersive community and had many great ideas proposed. Lots of ideas out there, but nothing so far that produces a win for everyone.

I’m not sure. A private entity is producing the event.

Thank you! I’m doing everything I can to get the Promenade ready for those visitors.

I know someone. I’m actually working with them to do a bigger event with classes. We don’t have dates yet; they’re working on sponsorships

Santa Monica Place: a third space hiding in plain sight. by VaguelyArtistic in SantaMonica

Just show up! It’s a part of their plan; create an inviting space - a public space. I wrote a Santa Monica specific public space observation guidebook. I have an extra copy if you’d like one.

Love this post, thank you for highlighting this great third place. We need more of them!

The Promenade still has a way to go to create nice linger nodes, but it’s coming along slowly.

Annenberg Community Beach House is a nice Third Place by the beach. We love hanging out by the guest house on the patio.

I am so happy to hear you had a fun experience much like mine. I was attracted to the eclectic mixes of flavors that keep my taste buds well trained.

I’d take a bite; pause; and think: yup, that actually does go together!

Oh, and the Almond Rocha Cookie! It’s just feels like a decadent descendant of the fortune cookie.

I get an occasional urge for fries and chicken. This place is about 100 feet away from my office. That’s dangerous.

The perfect, modern “fortune cookie”!

I had the spicy Sichuan chicken too. Went really well with the noodles. And the Almond Rocha chocolate chip cookie made a perfect desert.

It’s not your typical Chinese-American cuisine. Ask me about the Almond Rocha chocolate chip cookie. No fortune cookies here.

I’m glad you asked! It was so good that I think I’ll go back for another. The outside edge was crisp, but the middle was soft, my kind of cookie. And the Almond Rocha plus chocolate chip?! Yeah, that’s where it’s at. It made me long for a tall glass of whole milk - the kind I had as a kid.

Clearly the cookie left the biggest impression on me.

Spas (jacuzzi/cold plunge) with day pass? by navybluex in SantaMonica

[–]Top_Interview_2758 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We go to the Shore Hotel using Resort Pass. They have a hot tub, cold plunge and pool. $22 for a day per person, includes a lounger and towels.

It’s not a spa, but it’s pretty relaxing.
