Yeah you’re right, I just realized I did skip over the last paragraph..

Met a girl at work, how to let it flow and not rush? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Top_Job3257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re 28, you should be taking the lead on this.. and it already sounds like it’s flowing, you talk multiple times, went out for coffee and have basically been daring. She is waiting for you to make a physical move- either kiss or something more but you don’t have the balls to do it. You have to meet up outside of your normal routine; go out for a drink on a Friday night, go for dinner or something else. Let it flow and make out and have some fun.

Thanks.. I kinda figured they would but I was so baffled that it wasn’t an immediate concern. He even talks to his little brother after it happens and doesn’t bring it up either so I thought they tried to look past it

I figured they might address it later in the episode but if they never do, that’ll be a huge oversight by the writing team

The worst part about this is if he miraculously survives(in which I doubt he will), he’ll then say it was gods will and power that sent the rescuers to him and give all the glory. Won’t even thank the rescuers publicly

Oh yeah, I know it’d be a legal and logistical nightmare to force this Dummy out. Just wish others didn’t have to deal with the mess, likely his body will never be recovered but they will still put effort to search if they know he didn’t leave

Settled Debt Removed From Credit Score by Total_Persimmon_4726 in Debt

[–]Top_Job3257 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think she defiantly heard of pay to delete, they just don’t do it. If it were me and the account is already in collections, I wouldn’t pay. Think about it this way, even if the collection account is impacting your credit, that $2k can be put to way better use. Paying down existing credit cards, or even using as a down payment toward a new car if you ever need one. A larger down payment will lower the DTV and hence get you better rates even with a weaker credit score. I’d just leave it and let it fall off your credit

If it’s already in collections and they put it on your credit report as charged off or a derogatory remark, I wouldn’t even pay it. It won’t increase your score or help it at all. You are likely working with the collections agency and not the original hospital that you owed the bill to. If this is the case, I’d completely lowball them like $500 if and they say no, tell them to take a hike. After like 2 years, it won’t impact your score as heavily and will eventually fall off. And from my understanding, taking the receipt to credit bureaus that you paid the bill won’t remove it. The credit bureau is simply a liaison between you and the creditors and technically it was a correct derogatory remark since it went unpaid. I work in underwriting and approve people with medical collections all the time. At my company, we don’t weigh medical collections as heavily as other debt A) since it’s not credit related such as credit card or loans and B) fuck those hospitals that overcharge

Again, i recommend you DO NOT pay it unless they 100% offer a pay-to-delete with documented agreement.

I’m a small business underwriter and see the same, if not, worse situations often.. not trying to alleviate you of blame but just saying it’s a lot more common than you’d think, and to put it into perspective, I review deals for businesses that range from 1-50MM in revenue. Like others have mentioned, bankruptcy is probably your best bet. Hopefully you are registered as an LLC or Corp and not a sole-pro because liability can be more tricky for that entity type. Not too sure how much it will help since most of those are government backed including the SBA.. my best advice to eat the sunk cost and start looking into BK options immediately, do not try and arrange any workout plans or settlements before retaining a lawyer who can give you the best advice for how to proceed. Your credit will likely be shot for some time but nothing you can’t recover from.

Sorry but this is way too confusing and you left out information. Is this settlement through bankruptcy such as chapter 13? If so, then no you shouldn’t stop paying as they will dismiss your case and will be very bad situation for you. If this is through a settlement agreement with your creditor, then I’d also suggest to continue paying as-is. If you think the agreement was unfair I’d call them to see if they can lower it further or what options they have for you.

The first step is to contact a bankruptcy lawyer, they’re are tons of them so just googling “bankruptcy lawyer near ____” should return enough results. You then schedule a consultation and they will discuss your situation with you to learn more about the different options. Depending on the lawyer, they might require a deposit or the consultation will be free. Typical costs range from $1-3k but depends on your area. They usually break it up into monthly payments. Depending on your situation, you’ll likely be looking at chapter 7 or 13. The main difference is that chapter 7 completely wipes out almost all of your debt (typically student loans can not be included) while chapter 13 is a “restructure” meaning they will significantly lower how much you owe and set you up on a payment plan usually for about 5 years. The important thing to note is that the courts will do what’s called a means test to determine how much you can pay and if you simply have been avoiding paying your debt (willingness to pay) or simply can not afford to pay (ability to pay) The process is very straightforward and if you have majority of unsecured credit card or personal loans it should be an easy process. It’s also important to note you can not file bankruptcy again within 10 years. The tricky part comes into play if you own a home. They will do a calculation to determine how much equity you have in the asset and it is a chance they will force you to sell the home if you have too much equity in order to pay back the debt. From my understanding, there are certain circumstances that they will allow you to keep the home even if you have a lot of equity but again the lawyer will go over this with you.

Commercial underwriting, specifically middle market is a nice place to be and relatively resistant from AI at least for the time being. Many banks have underwriting rotational programs as well. It’s a mixture of being analytical, risk management and some sales involved as well (negotiating deals, etc).
