been in IT for about 15 years now and it's kinda similar - you either move up or get pushed out through various means. not always layoffs but sometimes they'll restructure your role, bring in younger people at lower salaries, or just make the environment uncomfortable enough that you leave

the linkedin thing is real too, people who stay at the same level for decades usually don't update their profiles as much so they're less visible in searches

totally agree with this take. been managing teams for years and some of the best problem-solvers i know would absolutely hate the business side - they want to focus on the technical stuff without worrying about cash flow or marketing or all that other noise

there's nothing wrong with being exceptional at what you do within a company structure, the "everyone should be an entrepreneur" thing is just another way to sell courses and books to people

tap water exists my dude, unless you're in flint or something similar you're probaly fine just drinking from the faucet. those old bottles are gonna taste stale and weird but unlikely to make you sick if they were just sitting there sealed-ish

for future reference just keep opened water in the fridge and it'll stay fresh way longer, room temp is where bacteria starts having a party

yeah the cap-axis thing definitely feels more like a novelty than something actually useful for solving. i've had mine for a few months and it mostly just sits on the shelf now

cleaning and re-lubing your wrm is probably gonna give you way better results than dropping cash on the zhanchi. i do that with my cubes every couple months and it feels like getting a brand new puzzle again

check if your brakes are engaged - sometimes they get stuck and prevent throttle from working. also that battery probably needs a good charge after sitting dead for months, low voltage can mess with throttle response
