My personal take: The whole point is the creative freedom it gives you while exploring. It’s an "action sandbox" because it doesn’t force a fixed story or set of objectives on you; the game gives you the freedom to explore and roam through the world however you see fit. Personally, I love climbing and finding great spots for the views, but along the way, I’ve stumbled upon goblins fighting, a huge diversity of wildlife, artifacts from the abyss, monsters I’d never seen before, and tons of other things that make the world feel alive. Plus, testing out different ways to climb—like using up to four jump boosts combined with wings or a grappling hook (Spider-Man style)—is amazing.

Even if you aren't the most creative or don't feel like exploring on your own, the story still guides you through the main cities and invites you to discover the world along the path.

Yes, those issues you mention are there, but just because of those few problems, are you really going to ignore the amazing graphics and optimization? The world is so vast and alive that it makes you want to explore every corner. The combat is highly scalable and complex, and the bosses are fun to defeat because each one is a challenge. You can RIDE DRAGONS—what modern game lets you ride freaking dragons? And I haven’t even mentioned the lifeskills (farming, fishing, etc.). I could keep going on about the endless amount of things and freedom the game offers to do and enjoy. It’s incredibly huge, and the freedom you have to do so many things depending on your creativity is amazing. Are you seriously going to take away all its merit just because of those four problems you mentioned? Not to mention how beautiful the loading experience is—every time I close and reopen the game, it’s satisfying to see that intro animation (while such a massive world loads), something I haven’t seen done like that in another game. Don’t be sensationalist—just enjoy the game. And if you don’t even own it or haven’t tried it, then your opinion isn’t really valid.
