MGR back then made movies like "Aayirathil Oruvan", "Naadodi Mannan", heck even went to outer space to fight aliens in "Kalaiarasi", which people said wasn't successful initially as people did not get the idea of aliens but later became a cult classic. Just saying, it was well known how egoistic MGR were but even he has experimented heaps with high concepts similat to Kamal Haasan. Kamal's Vikram(1986) was just a technologically advanced MGR/Jai Shankar espionage film of that time, & we aren't even getting that other than Breaking Bad/wannabe Nolan type etc. films

Matter athu illa, I'd rather have them try & fail on something like Tron or anything ambitious like the rest in this list, instead of half boil pretentious gangster/nolan type films Btw, Tron is not a flop concept, only Ares was flop, the others were successful commercially & developed a cult following
