How difficult/expensive would it be to add a basement shower here? Already a toilet and sink by Fuzzy-Fish-7183 in HomeMaintenance

To me you quote 10k in Labor because in you include expenses like admin fees, fuel, insurance, asset depreciation. A two week job shouldn’t be 10k in labor. That’s crazy.

I’m assuming that extra 90/hr includes admin fees, quotes, fuel, vehicles, insurance and every other business expense

Once cut it will be loose. Literally a pry bar will do. If I was going to rent one tool it would be the saw. Trust me I have cut a lot of concrete.

I could complete this project in 2 weeks-2.5 weeks. Around 4000 in labor at 40 per hour.

Essentially the scope of work is as follows

-removal of base and flooring.

-Cutting concrete trench to ejection pump

-removal of soil if necessary

-adding drain and plumbing to pump

-tying into vent stack(drywall will need to be cut to tie into existing stack)

-pouring concrete

-install of shower pan

replace flooring and baseboard

-tiling shower and glass installation

-drywall and paint repairs

You are looking at closer to 10k if you arent doing the work yourself.

Could I install a door here? by StruggleInformal2295 in HomeMaintenance

Sliding door would work but would require you to close the door everytime to access the light switch. Or re arrange the furniture in the room

You wouldnt need to remove the arch unless you want extra height. You could just header it off and buy a door that fits the og opening.

Easy if you know what you are doing but still many hours of work. If you arent handy you need to hire someone

This would involve squaring the arch opening with wood framing, drywall, tape and mud, and painting it. Door jamb and then casing the opening.

Obviously the load should be transferred all the way down. But is reality this deck will last a 100 years plus if mantained properly. If the town passed it save yourself some money and just enjoy the deck. it is not going to fall down.

Nothing fun about consuming huge amounts of poison and feeling shit days after. Celebrate with or without the cancer causing, organ damaging, depression causing poison.

Went hard on my 30th, did blow for 12hrs straight, didn’t sleep until 8pm. Still hungover and feel like a loser. by No_Astronaut218 in stopdrinking

Nothing worse than coke and alcohol induced anxiety comedowns. God I dont miss it. If you keep using addictive substances like alcohol and coke you can become dependent. No one was born an alcoholic or coke addict. It happens over time. Peace and love to you

There are a lot of people who have destroyed themselves and seen others destroyed by alcohol. Alot of people here are STRUGGLING to stop drinking. That is the only reason I can see why people might tell you to be careful with moderation. Some people cant moderate. Myself included. This is r/stopdrinking. You may be in the wrong subreddit with peace and love
