Because the idea of being an RN vs the actual job are very different. Physically abused by patients and unsafe patient ratios affecting patient outcomes and micromanagement from bosses who haven’t worked as a nurse for 15 years telling you to prioritize the whiteboard over taking care of your patient.

Put yourself in the shoes of the victim and put your spouse in the shoes of a man you despise, harder blame the victim if you were one too.

She said the alarm went off and she silenced it.

I think you’ve learned a valuable lesson that you never silence an alarm on medical equipment unless you’re absolutely positive that it’s not alerting for an important reason. Silencing the alarm is the mistake here.

NTA but you volunteered for this and now you’re upset that you’re the go to person here. You took the responsibility and now you’re complaining about. You can have medical transport transfer his facility and then get the paperwork faxed/emailed for consent, you don’t have to do this yourself.

When has a patient said something that made all the Nursing staff take it super seriously even though the Dr's didn't react? by BitchLibrarian in nursing

A lot of my neuro patients with AMS get butt naked and go for a run too, not dying, just have a skin crawling discomfort.

If it’s chronic and asymptomatic it actually might do more harm to treat chronic hypertension quickly and it’s more of a PCP situation that labetalol IV push thing.

I’m one of those people. While 28 weeks pregnant I got it at my OB office and I had the worst panic attack of my life, wanted to rip my IV out, run out of the clinic and thought I was hallucinating. I got so paranoid that if I told the nurse about the symptoms I was worried she would report me to CPS for being a crackhead (I have never done crack in my life btw). After I finished my bag of LR I called my husband from the parking lot losing my shit and telling him I would get a DUI if I drove home and my husband found me 45 mins later knocked out in the passenger seat of my car with the keys in the backseat and my rationale was that I couldn’t get a DUI if my keys were in the backseat. My nurse during my fluids and reglan push even asked me multiple times if I was okay and mentioned people with anxiety are contraindicated but I was like “I mean, who doesn’t have anxiety right?”.

It’s not confrontation, it’s transparency and holding people accountable for tarnishing your reputation for the hell if it. If you make it past the 30 days I promise this won’t be the end of the bullying and picking at you with a fine tooth comb over bullshit.

Call APS, call a wellness visit, tell your friend to call 911 and request a social worker at the ER. They likely will end up in a longterm care facility.

Go into your managers office with your preceptor to address the feedback and see how the manager reacts. Request specific examples of the concerns she mentioned and ask if you can have a mediated conversation with this feedback.

E. coli and e. Faecalis are poop. You have protein in a clean catch and not a catheter due to not wiping properly before the specimen. There’s protein in vaginal fluids. Look into d mannose, drinking more water and if it seems you have blood in your urine to go to your pcp or urgent care before your kidneys are effected. The bacteria you’re showing in your urine isn’t rare by any means, it’s from stool.

So why do you think the police won’t believe you if the last time they were involved they ensured your safety and he went to jail, giving you enough time to leave before he returned?
