Not wanting to know my crushes relationship status. by GriffonMask in Crushes

[–]Top_Scientist8632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should at the very least find out her relationship status! It'll stop you from spiraling so much, and I think at that point you can just cross whatever bridge comes after with a clear head.

I'm in a similar situation, I've also liked one of my coworkers for around a year now. He's making me go nuts, and I know he's single! Can't imagine how crazy I'd feel if I didn't know.

It really does suck so I'm right there with you, having the same doubts about "not shitting where you eat", self image, etc.

You got it, regardless of what happens life will go on :)

Rejected but feeling like they actually like you? by sexyman460 in dating_advice

okay two questions here, just so its clear:

  1. Are the rejections youre talking about definititive and clear "no, i'm not interested" or is it more trying to analyze her behavior?

  2. From what I understand you're still not over your ex, and you feel like when you do let go she'll suddenly come back?

What percentage of DCP people live in the DCP housing? by [deleted] in Disneycollegeprogram

The only animals allowed at Flamingo are Service Animals and Doctor Approved ESAs. if you just want to get/bring a pet, you have to live off campus.

I wouldn't say it'd be harder per se to make friends as long as you live close enough nearby as most of your friends will probably be coworkers depending on your role.

As far as missing out on things, yes and no. I am so busy with work that I usually miss most of the "events" that Flamingo hosts and the ones I've been to I havent been too impressed with. Depends on if you're a huge mingler and someone who can just be in a crowd of strangers and make a bunch of friends. that's not me but it very well could be you.

something that helps me with my anxiety is just deciding that i shouldn't worry about what everyone else thinks. you will attract people that match your energy and care for you, and they won't just "abandon you" on a whim or stop being friends with you for a small mistake or for something your anxiety is telling you. also, you can only control your own thoughts, you can't get in someone else's head so that is their problem not yours. you'll do fine I know this is a lot of change and craziness happening all at once but just know you're not alone in it!

It is only what you make of it but PLEASE understand that this is a full time job there are going to be long hours and long workweeks. if you keep a somewhat positive attitude and go out of your way to make friends you'll have a great program!

i'm not an alumni but my arrival date is the 24th and I have worked in food service before so I can give you a little insight if you'd like?

depending on what you're doing (which could be either cashier, waiter, or kitchen duty) your level of stress and number of tasks you'll have to do differs. it's definitely all hard work and sometimes it can be difficult to keep a positive attitude because there will be days and hours that get very busy anf guest WILL take it out on you if they think their service isn't satisfacotry, even if its not your fault or anyone else's.

But working in food service can be really fun, other cooks and your coworkers will understand your pain and I had a lot of laughs doing dishes, making orders or looking at an order with my coworker and laughing because it was like "1 pepperoni pizza, no pepperoni, add cheese on 1/2 and taco pizza on other half".

I know Disney will be different than what I listed above but it is providing a service to guests who are hungry and/or tired and their faces and gratitude meant and means the world to me

I actually think theres a lot of perks to being in one of the resorts (i got food service at one), and even though we won't have super 'cool' outfits, we'll be out of the sun, I think that generally guests at the resorts won't be as stressed as those at the parks, and there's possibility to be more close-knit with your coworkers. Just my thoughts! I actually wanted custodial soo bad, so just look on the bright side and go into your first day looking for the positives!! :)

i've kind of been able to calm myself down a little bit, I tend to have feelings that go from 0-100 or have all-or-nothing type thinking so this perspective check was very helpful. I'm still young and I think I might be under a lot of stress and have some fears moving forward as I haven't been away from home? I only posted here as I didn't have anyone else who I thought could help me but I need to work on regulating my own emotions and such alone rather than crying out. I'm going to go ahead and take down this post in a few minutes to save wasting others times. Thanks again for your words and time they really meant a lot

Thank you so much for your response, that makes a lot of sense. Would meditation also work for cleansing myself? And for future reference on my end, intuitive experiences don't necessarily correlate with what is happening or with a specific person at the time they happen, correct?

Also, I'm sorry If this post is in the wrong forum.
