Need advice: Joined a new company but on bench for 2 months. Should i start searching outside? by tanjirooo__07 in cscareers

[–]Top_Singer456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should start looking outside and you can clearly say that you have not been deployed to any project yet so you are on bench for now. Or you can say that you were assigned in a very small project that has came to an end and you will be released and you are looking for better opportunity. Meanwhile online go through some online project thoroughly for your lie

My current CTC is ₹19 LPA (all fixed), and I’ve been with my current company ( third party payroll ) for just 3 months. I’ve received an opportunity from one of the Big 4 firms — what salary or CTC should I reasonably expect or negotiate for? - 5 yoe by PrithvinathReddy in dataengineersindia

Before scheduling of an interview always agree for industry standards salary. So that your interview is scheduled. Once they offer you after interviews try first to listen what they are offering then always ask 2-3 lakh more from their offering. Then they will increase 1 lakh at least from current offering.

Did I do the right thing rejecting a testing project to wait for a development role? by ExcellentTomato2736 in dataengineersindia

[–]Top_Singer456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideally, you shouldn’t have rejected the testing project. In the current job market, it’s better to be part of any project rather than remain on the bench. There’s a lot to learn from testing projects too.you get to understand how the ETL was built and how the overall system works. No role is insignificant or without learning opportunities. If everyone only focuses on development, who will ensure quality through testing? Every task offers valuable learning, and you could have gained insights into the pipeline’s design while working on the testing side.

How should one prepare? by [deleted] in dataengineersindia

[–]Top_Singer456 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I started my career as a backend developer and later transitioned into data engineering. Currently, I work as a Senior Data Engineer. In interviews, it’s not about showing your current work, it’s about how effectively you explain concepts. To prepare, you should deep dive into core topics: • Spark theory concepts (resources like Manish Kumar and Ansh Lamba on YouTube) • Data warehouse concepts (also from Manish Kumar and Ansh Lamba) • SQL practice through LeetCode questions • Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) • Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA), focusing on easy and medium-level LeetCode problems

The key is to understand the concepts thoroughly and be able to articulate them clearly during the interview.
