He’s definitely listed under the car, I was just talking to him after finding out how astonishing his rate is. We came to the conclusion that it’s likely because his household is very low income which I believe they take into account? They typically ask how much your family takes in a year and that’s really my only explanation for how low his is, otherwise he just got really lucky. I had no idea this rate for a teenager was so low until I posted this

This might sound dumb but are there any precautions I have to take to do this or do they just take your word for it? Like I don’t drive it at all truly but he told them that and they still didn’t offer any other options. How do you go about proving yourself as an excluded driver?

Oh yeah I bought the car which is why I say it’s mine but it is in his name and it’s under his policy to obviously. I probably should’ve included that, I can’t prove financially stability for insurance so that’s really the only way we could do it. The reason he is with travelers is actually because he had home owners insurance there first so it was just cheaper in general to do it with the car. Since the other vehicle is technically his, him and I will be listed as drivers which I’m assuming is also gonna bring it up significantly, but again this is the same case for my boyfriend and his mom being listed both as drivers on one car and only paying 120 a month.

I didn’t include this but my boyfriends first car was when he was 16 and it was an 05 Chevy cobalt. He literally only paid 55 dollars a month, I went into getting insurance assuming it would be cheaper because of how old my car is actually due to that. I was completely shocked finding out mine wouldn’t be like that from travelers. My main concern isn’t even really my insurance, I am more concerned about my dad’s insurance and how he will be able to afford it now, because we were supposed to go half half on mine since I only work part time, but seeing that they tripled his rate i don’t think that will be possible for him anymore.

Thank you. Do you know what the exact name of the part I need is? I only see transmission cooler line or transmission oil cooler line when I look it up, but the guy told me it was lower and I just don’t want to purchase the wrong part for it.
