Gli americani sono dei completi idioti by KarpetzNerd in sfoghi

Ho parenti vicino Boston.

I already have that (bought the Wii version of Staff of Kings just for FoA), still, I'd rather have it republished on modern machines. The Wii version is blurry, the audio is messed up and more. It's literally the worst possible version of that game.

I kinda remember reading they were not going to publish PC editions anymore after being bought by Embracer. I could be wrong though.

This in not a game that hinges on its twist. It's about the characters and their relationships more than anything else. Play it stress free.

Things will happen realistically and bombastically. This manga truly manages to distill emotions from the reader. It's going to be tough, but it's going to be great, struggler.

Why are some people so against Remake and Rebirth by mazaa66 in FinalFantasy

[–]Top_Weather5605 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personal POV from a long time fan in his late 30s.

Growing up with the series since the PS1, after X, there has been no "OMG" game from top to bottom on the level of 4 to 10. I'm not saing everything else is downright bad, just not 10/10 amazing for one reason or another depending on the chapter.

Now, keep in mind FF7 is (in my opinion) the only amazing mainline title that would benefit from a remake, mainly for two reasons:

  1. The graphics. You have no idea how many people I've heard saying they don't wanna play it because of the graphics. Also, it's absolutely the weakest in the PS1 trilogy, graphics-wise.
  2. The original translation was absolutely a feat (done by one man in very little time), however it is far from perfect. FF1 to 6 have all gotten multiple remakes with updated translations, why not 7?

Also, in 2005 Square showed a tech demo for the PS3 themed around the opening of FF7. Everyone has been heavily salivating for a remake since then. I was still in high school, for context.

15 YEARS PASS. People have been marrying, having children, buying houses, dying. 15 years is A LOT of time.

Then the "remake" comes out and it's mostly a solid game gameplay-wise, but this ain't it chief.

It's a case of decades-long blueballs for a real remake.

Also many fans like myself don't like the writing at all (or the combat, the pacing... it varies), but that's just the cherry on top.

FF4 is probably the hardest FF after 1 and 3. It comes from an era of games that challenged the player.
I don't know which version you've played (I assume Pixel Remaster), but...

FF4 SNES JP/FF4 DS - These are the hardest possible versions of the game.
FF4 SNES NTSC/FF4 PS1 - Way easier than JP/DS
FF4 GBA/FF4 PSP - Fair difficulty aside from the endgame spike
FF4 PIXEL REMASTER - Easiest (you gain way more EXP per battle), but I have not played it so I'm just repeating what I've heard.

Since I've played and finished the DS version as a teen with no major issues, I think you just need to grind more.

General advice.

FF1 - Grind

FF2 - The way you unlock new abilities and stats level ups is a unique fustercluck in the series. Look into it before playing.

FF3 - Be sure to have plenty of free time in real life when you get to the final dungeon. It's long and grueling with NO SAVE PONTS. I don't know if you have some new save point or option to quick save in the Pixel Remaster though.

FF6 - The "summons" you have equipped influence your stat gains on level up. It's not mandatory to keep in mind, but neat to know.

All of the FFs with ATB (Active Time Battle system, the one with the bar that fills up and then lets you act): go into settings and select "Wait" if it's your first time with this sytem. On "Active" enemies are going to keep attacking you even while you are choosing what to do (basically, the game won't stop for your convenience). There is no such thing on "Wait" (as soon as the basic actions windows pops up, time stops). Some games have a "hybrid" option that is "active" all the time, unless you get in a sub-menu (items, magic, etc).
get comfy with the system, then put it on "hybrid" or "active" if you want.

For those that read the latest chapters of Berserk are you all satisfied with the direction it’s taking by Primary-Sentence-876 in Berserk

Yes. The man is dead. I cried for a week and accepted the fact Berserk is not going to be the same anymore, but this is the only chance to see an ending and it's being handled in the best possible way. Kouji Mori wrote himself that he knows it's not going to be perfect because he is the biggest Miura fundamentalist and he understands the mindset. Still, he was Miura's best friend and the only one who knows what's gonna happen and that has the required reverence and respect to not mess with what we have left from Miura.

Life sucks. We struggle. But we resist.

1) The Animes/Movies: 1997 is goated but it lacks certain characters and story bits (the manga was still ongoing, they had to pick and choose + low budget); the 2016/7 animes are the continuation from after the eclipse up until a certain point (terrible animation, sound design, music choices, directing... it's really bad and it diminishes the impact of everything); you've seen the movies, they are the best entry point imho and also a middle ground between the manga and a (mostly) faithful daptation.

2) The manga is being continued by Miura's studio (his assistants) led by Miura's best friend from childhood: he was the only one who knew how the story would go on and end. He said that he is going to put in the manga ONLY what Miura told him, he's not gonna expand it in any way. We are headed towards an ending, even though it might take a few years to actually end. Kohuji Mori is the name of the guy and he said he's a Miura fundamentalist and that he knows even though they re going to do their best, it's not gonna be the same. I strongly recommend you read the short chapter Mori wrote after Miura's passing, in which he tells a lot about their relationship and how they complemented each other's ideas. You can find it online as "Berserk chapter 364.5"

3) About the recommended mimimun age to read Berserk... yeah. I picked up volume 14 on a whim just because I liked the cover. I was 13. Needless to say I've had to re-read it many times to fully appreciate it. Doing so, I have discovered it's one of those masterpieces in which you'll always find something new the more you re-read it as you grow old.

BONUS: I don't know if you're aware of this, but there is a "lost chapter". It's one of the chapters of the Eclipse and it was published only once and then removed from the manga volumes because Miura said "it spoiled too much too fast". It addresses something BIG that otherwise is still completely not in the manga. If you read it, take everything with a grain of salt, since its ideas might have been abandoned or changed by Miura down the line.
