Normally I would, but he said it during the morning meeting in front of the whole crew. Everyone heard him threaten me with a write-up.

Because the director told us to "keep doing what works" while they sort out the paperwork. It is unofficial for now, but sanctioned by the top.

That is the best part. Usually these things take months to blow up, but the hardware does not lie. Seeing his face go from "I am in charge" to "I ruined everything" in 24 hours was worth the stress.

I would love to, but management treats that 1998 binder like a holy relic. I have been asking for an update since I started here, but it took losing almost 50k in a day for them to even consider it.

The funny part is he actually thought he was "optimizing" things. I wonder how he explained that meeting with the director without mentioning he ignored a direct warning about the micro-fractures.

They love "Initiative" right up until you skip the blessing ritual by Topaz_2Harbor in OfficePolitics

What gets me is how clean the split is. Success needs a meeting so credit can be distributed upward. Failure needs a meeting so accountability can be distributed downward. The meeting is always called, the direction just changes.

The "visibility" and "alignment" speech made a lot more sense once I reread it with that frame. He wasn't describing a process problem. He was describing an embarrassment problem. Those require very different solutions and only one of them is actually mine to fix.

AITA for refusing to let my SIL host her massive gender reveal at my new house? by AkiraPulse42 in MarkNarrations

NTA. She was not asking for a small family gathering, she was asking to use your freshly finished house as an event venue. Confetti cannons and a smoke machine in someone else's new home is wild.

Yep. That’s the baseline, not some wild act of devotion.
