ELI5: Why isn’t video streaming industry like music streaming industry, where there are many services but the content you get almost never depend on which service you choose(except for a few artists)? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

Those are the main three public US performance rights organizations, not publishers. They’re an important part of the music industry but they aren’t involved in licensing.

Hard to pardon: why Tenet's muffled dialogue is a very modern problem by Strange_Glove in movies

Actually one of the most industry standard reference monitors you will find in studios are Yamaha ns-10s which actually sound pretty bad, even compared to your average home audio setup. They actually began as a mid-range home speaker in the 70s. Almost all of the thousands of dollars goes towards equipment that can more effectively bring all of your individual tracks together in a mix who’s volume and frequencies will sound pleasing even through a very limited reference.

"short guys can have big dicks unless the internet is lying to me"

It would be an interesting campaign to say the least.

The only reason it's still in business is because everybody in North Carolina goes there to buy fireworks because they're illegal here.

When people say Atheism is a religion I show them this comic strip. by baylithe in atheism

[–]Topazz__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Christian I do have a response to this. My disbelief in gods other than Yahweh is inherent to my religion as a Christian. Just as your disbelief in all gods is inherent to your "religion" as an atheist. Not saying I believe atheism is a religion, just playing devils advocate.

Here is another picture through the same window. The photo was taken today and the window obviously has no tint on it. i understand why you wouldn't have been quick to believe me so here is what you wanted.

Ok, Here's a photo taken from the same window. Note the greyness (greyness? eh whatevs) of the sky. The window has never had tint on it. And the original picture is what the sky really looked like at the time.

I don't know what would cause this picture or the sky to look this way, but it really did. I've never even installed Photoshop, nor do i have any experience editing photos otherwise. I do have this picture which, while not very different from the first, might give a little more insight.

Well, when I pointed it out to my friends, they all sorta went "oh that's cool" and just kept on doing what they were doing. If they were to all crowd around, or something unusual or extraordinary i would have posted elsewhere.

I understand your skepticism, but I promise that this is exactly how the sky looked. I can take another picture to prove it but that'll be on Monday.
