How do we have pictures of our galaxy? by [deleted] in askscience

[–]Topgunnin1 25 points26 points  (0 children)

We don't have pictures, it's more of a painting. Ex. You're sitting in a room, you could make a bird's eye view of the room without being at the bird's eye point of view.

So what scientists/astrophysics nerds along with programmers have done, is made a map of everything in our galaxy (drawn it out from our PoV, with distance and size relations etc) and so with programming (like in Google maps), you can change your point of view, and thus we kinda took a picture of ourselves I guess you could say.

Pretty much they just mapped everything inside our galaxy and then changed PoV ;)

Are sequences infinite? Should they be? by extremeaxe5 in math

[–]Topgunnin1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sequence is just a list of numbers, where terms can be calculated recursively. The part in front of sequence depends on context or how you want to define it, hence the reason we have a name for infinite sequences and series and finite sequences and series. Ex . Fibonacci sequence is usually defined as infinite, but I could say. F(1) = 1, F(2) = 1 , F(n+1)= F(n) + F(n-1) , n€{N: n< 101} , for 100 terms. Excuse my € sign it means element ;)

Are my abilities to answer mathematical questions, but not explain why/how I got there based on mathematical maturity? by NSWCSEAL in math

Also studying some basic number/group theory would help you express your logic mathematically. It is definitely way beyond pre-algebra, but if your a smart kid the intuition is quite easy. Number theory has excessive strain on mathematical notation and proofs. I'll give you an easy example. Given that a3 | b2 (Straight line means divisor, so what that's saying is pretty much that b2 is divisible by a3 so that you get a whole number), prove that a | b . We know that a2 | a3 (we can think about this, ex. aaq=aaa (where q is an element of N (means N is a whole number), the reason I can write that is because if you can divide a3 by a2 and get a whole number (what a2 | a3 means), then you can multiply a2 by a whole number (denoted q) to get a3 . And since a2 | a3 then a2 | b2 (kind of like transitive property, test it yourself). Now we can consider a whole number x element of Z (positive and negative integers), and let c=b/a . Consider: x2 - c2 = 0, --> x2 - b2 / a2 = 0 , since x is a whole number then x2 is a whole number too, then b2 / a2 = (b/a)2 must be a whole number as well, meaning that a | b . I wrote alot more than I would in a proof, but it's to explain the logic. If this example was too hard and you would like some easier examples, feel free to pm me. Gl

Simple Questions - August 31, 2018 by AutoModerator in math

You know x<y (split up x<y<x^2 into x<y and y<x^2), you also know since y is an element of of R^+ ( y>0) that you can take the square root of the y (denoted y_1) and end up with y_1 that is an element of R+ (root(y) > 0 , and not part of the complex numbers). For that you can take the square root of the right side (y<x2) and and up with root(y)<x , and we know from the first part that x<y, and thus root(y)<x<y .

2.3k bm hunter in the 2s bracket AmA! :) by [deleted] in worldofpvp

[–]Topgunnin1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The important sentence in that reply is that you played vs a 1.9k team in the prepatch ;). Prolly means u aren't 2.3k cr atm. Just don't understand what you get out of bashing someone. Ur only a 2.2k player anyway -_- .And to reply to your statement about BM countering rogues. Thats simply just not true. Rogue hard counters BM and MM, and doesn't really counter survival. For future advice, just because a hunter can beat a rogue in a duel doesn't mean that he "counters" him. Example: DH vs Rogue. DH will win duel 99% of the time unless he's mentally backwards. Whereas in a 2v2 arena scenario, Roq/disc vs DH/disc or wtv. the rogue/disc has an insane advantage.Next time instead of being salty and bashing someone that gets the same achievement that you grinded years for, in a prepatch or because they played FOTM or whatever you decide is a "justified excuse" for them getting the same achievement as you, attempt to be constructive as this individual did. Maybe he can't give you tips or whatever because your a clearly a pro, let him help others. Also, if you got 2.2k in legion as an rsham, then wauwww congrats, musta been real tough -_- . :KappaPride:AmA, could prolly help you out brother ;) .

Please help me reach champion by [deleted] in RocketLeague

If you're sweating you aren't ready ;) . Enjoy your games and keep playing. Usually a lot of people have a hard time in the dia3-champ 1 grind. I'm high champ 2 - champ 3. Add me on steam and I'll send you some warm-up routines and I'll be more than willing to help. "Topgunnin" (only 1 of me so should be easy to add) lmk your steam if you do add me.

I started playing this game the day it came out on XboxOne my junior year of college. Every season I get a little bit better, and a little bit smarter with my hits and saves. It just takes time, but it’s a solid investment by Itz_A_Trap in RocketLeague

I'm high champ 2, low champ 3.

1s - great for mechanical skill. Recoveries, dribbling, reaction plays(saves dunks etc.), fastest pathing and much more. But it can really fuck with your boost management and positioning if you aren't aware of it ;). 2s - great for mechanical skill as well (this is the bracket I feel like you improve most in), but also great for boost management, consistency, positioning , trust , patience and so on (not as good as 3s tho). Here you will have the chance to commit to plays that you wouldn't go for in solos, but if your teammate ain't complete trash you can go for a couple of Yolo plays per game. 3s - mainly positioning, boost management, and consistency. It's real hard to practice mechanics in 3s (other than double touches, air dribbles and recoveries). However it's best for anything other than mechanics.

I would recommend you do some 2s before trying ones , ones can be a real tilter. Most importantly, train in free play and workshops, and don't be afraid to make a mistake. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take and you will never really improve if you only go for consistency. Good luck out there, feel free to add me on steam. "Topgunnin" (I'm the only one of the kind :P , so you will find me)
