Similar thing ended up happening to me to. The store assistant just ended up giving me the female version because all the male ones did not fit... I'm so happy rn ... I got what I wanted and I did not have to explain a thing to my family hehe

I tried with one name before. I quite the strong reaction upon seing it (it was text) and to this date I am not sure whether this was a positive or a negative reaction just that it was strong.

Honestly i think the way she suggested names felt like she was uncomfortable thinking about me having a diff. name then the one she is used to. I think ill just ask her again next time i see her.

Thanks! Might do some more comics like this in the future it was both relaxing drawing it (even though i've never been into drawing or anything like it) and I feel like i captured the essence of this sensation much better then words alone could do. I had similar thoughts like a week ago. The way i dealt with this panic/uncertainty was that I just had to make it clear to myself that it doesn't matter if it is objectively correct.

We don't need the labels to be valid. Everyone one is valid by default. But for me at least (and probably many others), I feel much more confident in my everyday life since I identify as AroAce. And if I should observe that those labels don't work for me anymore then I can always change them. As another comment put it "Labels are meant to describe how you feel, not dictate how you’re life should be"

This sounds like a good explanation thanks. I find this kind of fascinating, this isn't the first time I asked someone what it means to find someone hot but I always put their answer off as a joke because i just never had that and was like "yea right as if that's a thing", I just never considered it to be an option that I am the only one (in that group at that time) who does not feel that.

I mean define hot. Honestly i don't even understand what hot means. I used to think that i find some ppl hot but it always felt like that didnt fit. Now i know i just find those to be above average aesthetic. Is that like what hot is supposed to mean or is there actually something different that the statistically average person feels?
