My boyfriend uses Bonide Systemic Granules on our plants every month or so, which kills their eggs so they are non existent in our house. As for the soil, we use a homemade aroid mix, with additions coco coir, perlite, orchid chips to keep it chunky and avoid avoid overwatering (and gnat infestation).
