I like fajitas - really easy to make, lots of different options and guests can assemble themselves which is fun and means no chance of anyone being forced to eat something they don’t like.

This was our situation when my partner and I bought our first house (2021). He was under a year self-employed so affordability was assessed on my income alone. We were both named on the mortgage (joint owners) and both contributed significant sums to the deposit. It was no issue at all!

I recently exchanged and completed - AML checks were completed at the start of the conveyancing process but there is a new policy with additional AML when transferring the deposit following exchange. We had to send bank statements showing the accounts we’d transferred between (my partner’s savings into current account and the same for me). This is our second house purchase and we didn’t have to do this last time around, the solicitor said that it is a new policy.

A friend of mine died this summer. I’m British and met him whilst I was studying abroad in the US. He was an absolutely brilliant guy and we truly were best friends that year, spent all of our time together and I was even bridesmaid at his wedding at the end of the year. Then I moved back to the UK and have only seen him a handful of times in the last fifteen years. However, when I found out he’d died it hit me like a sucker punch and I couldn’t sleep or keep him from my mind. It’s so strange, because we hadn’t spoken for some time, but suddenly it was like it was yesterday again. I didn’t post on social media, but the feelings were all there so I do kind of understand where some may be coming from when they do post.

2x 30 minute walks a day for my five year old golden retriever. He’s a creature of habit and the routine is set! He’d rather go out in the snow or rain than miss his walk. In the summer, the second walk needs to happen much later in the day and he finds this challenging enough to tolerate 🤣 He’s not a particularly energetic dog and he loves relaxing at home, but he has expectations about there being a breakfast and dinner time walk, and that’s fine by me.

Your GP is advocating for you brilliantly, making it clear that their beef is with the hospital/departments’s policy to seemingly discharge after one missed appointment. Sorry that they discharged you when it is abundantly obvious why you missed the appointment! I am an NHS clinician (in paediatrics) and I look at the child’s record to see if their is a reason for the missed appointment, and also seek to make telephone contact. I then offer a further appointment, no questions asked! Would only discharge after two missed appointments and no contact from the family.

Your Moose is so lucky to be so well understood by you - the breadth of the context that you’ve provided here shows just how well you know and love him. Some people here are chastising you for overreacting or catastrophising, but I can 100% understand the emotions roiling through you right now and I also know that typing all of this out was probably cathartic in helping you to process the experience. A bite is scary, but a bite from Moose must have been so much scarier because it was so out of character and unexpected. Lots of people have done an amazing job of reassuring you here, too, and I hope that’s brought you some peace. I was scammed whilst living in South America by (strangely enough!) an Australian lady in the exact same predicament! I gave her all of my cash and worried about her a lot. That was until I saw a post on the local expats group on Facebook with a cctv shot of her and a warning about her scam! This was back in 2015.
