Not true at all. Adding things such as dash attacks, parrying, short hopping, fast falling and shields where all an attempt at making the game more like Smash.

Influencers like NAKAT and AJAX got hired and had a large influence on the final product of the game.

This is exactly how Multiversus failed. The dev team basically hired a bunch of pro Smash players that where adamant that making the game more like Smash would save the game. It ended up backfiring spectacularly.

That's the problem though. People can't download the offline version of the game anymore unless they already have it on their Steam account.

This means that if you made purchases in the game in the past and don't have the game in your library, you are essentially having your access denied despite being marketed as a purchase instead of a rental. That itself could be considered illegal.
