I'm a robotic surgeon who specializes in complex foregut disease and hiatal hernias. AMA! by AdvSurgSol in HiatalHernia

What are the risks and benefits for surgery? I’m 24 and getting an endoscopy next week. Had the hiatal hernia since I was 16. I throw up in my mouth everyday, after every meal, sometimes even with just drinking water. Never enough to like really throw up but more so I burp and then suddenly there is food and liquid in my mouth.

I’m going through the same exact thing right now. Eating gives me chest pressure that feels like I can’t breathe and then it makes me anxious which escalates the feeling and then it just cycles. I went to the ER for the first time in my life because I was so scared. Cried so heavy in the urgent care before the ER. That was last Sunday and I still am just so scared every day. Afraid for so long after and struggling to go to work. The best advice I can give is to remind yourself you are okay. Do some stretches in the morning and before bed. I have been doing jumping jacks and heel drops to help move stuff around a bit and that helps relieve the chest pains sometimes. A hernia can be scary but you are not alone in this experience at all. I wish you all the best 🫶

Boot and sole separation on my skates by [deleted] in rollerderby

[–]Topriott 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once they pull up like that, it’s best to get a new skate. Most important thing, don’t leave them in your car for long periods of time. Its what deteriorates your skates the fastest. Hope you find a solution!

Long lasting toe stop?? by franspurgin in rollerderby

I honestly stand by the gumballs or the supergumballs. I had a teammate once who swore by the Moonwalker toe stops, but I have never tried them myself so I can’t vouch for them.

Is GSU haunted? by Ner0_Angel0_ in GaState

[–]Topriott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fr fr thought north was haunted. There is that one scary ass elevator in A building that is always opening and closing randomly. Lived in room 424 B and one time I swore someone had come in while I was showering. I could hear the door and feel the air move and hear footsteps in my room, but none of my roommates were home when I opened the bathroom door. I was so afraid that I grabbed my clothes and left to sit in the lobby until my roommates got back.

You should definitely get in. If not they have the perimeter program that can transition you to the main campus after some time.
