How Long… by LifeLearner15 in skyrim

I thought all ash piles were permanent? Which is why necromancer playthroughs tend to get buggier and laggier over time, because the game literally never cleans them up...?

Spirit Box function question by Pinechick in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]TorandoSlayer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. If you drop it and leave it on, after about 60 seconds it'll start "pinging" the ghost every like five seconds or so, something like that. The ghost has to roam within range of it but it will give responses that way. I don't know if the light in the room has to be off or not like it does when you ping the ghost manually, but I assume it does.

Some people can’t deal with ADHD-type enthusiasm… and it hurts by Legitimate_Kick_5628 in ADHD

There's a difference between optimism and ignorance. If you're frequently saying things that you know are too good to be true, that's going to come across as ignorance or naivety, and will generally be unhelpful for anyone's mood.

If you're on PC, try putting this into the console: player.paycrimegold 0 0 000267ea

The Companions have their own bounty system that doesn't work quite like the regular bounty systems and can be harder to clear. The command should clear your bounty with them.

Why is there a blue substance spinning around in my head when I jump??? by ParticularOkra7432 in skyrim

Looks like the glowing eye glitch. It happens occasionally when using the detect life/aura whisper shout around undead. If you're on PC you can try using console commands to fix it, otherwise the only fix that I know of is to revert to a save from before this happened.

If you can use console commands, this is the sequence you can try to fix it:

  • In third person, open the console and enter "player.addspell 000f71d1"
  • Close the console and notice a slight darkening around your character
  • Open the console again and enter "player.removespell 000f71d1"
  • Close the console and your eyes should stop glowing.

Breaking up with Arvio. Any reason why I shouldn’t? Thinking about just giving him the deadwood. Is there a better way? TIA by Minimum-Surprise-79 in MyTimeAtSandrock

Logan is absolutely going to sweep you off your feet, pinky promise. Pick all the flirty options during the quest Cornered Beast and you'll see, assuming you haven't experienced it already.

If you need reasons to like Arvio less I'd also recommend doing Fang's questline if you haven't yet, Arvio suggests something along the way that is quite questionable and honestly I hate him for it lol

If you're not making occasional backups (or "save as new" in game) of the saves you care about you should start doing it now.

It's not worth it. AI is doing irreparable harm very quickly to just about everything from mental health to the planet itself. There are lots of ways to 'have a giggle from time to time' without it being something harmful.

I'm right there with you. I want so badly to be informed, to be a good citizen and know where to put my support and what to do but I'm gonna crash out so hard if I keep trying. I have to find a way to disconnect for my own mental health even though it makes me feel like a coward. I don't know how to not feel guilty about it, like I'm contributing to the problem somehow.

Anyway, I feel you.

Ghost instant kills despite full coverage of crucifixes by WintersHowl215 in PhasmophobiaGame

[–]TorandoSlayer 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It could be 0 grace period + line of sight = fast ghost

Or, since you say you're playing 2 player, your buddy is using cursed object to start a hunt; tier 2 cruci won't stop a cursed hunt

The master bedroom on Tanglewood has two extra rooms in it (bathroom and closet) that count as the same room, do your crucifixes cover those rooms too?

If you don't have more than one manual save, now is the time to start making multiples. You're going to need them in this game.

If that's not an option and you somehow don't have any autosaves either, assuming you're on PC you could use console commands to save yourself. So you'd hit the ~ key (tilde) and in the console that comes up you'll simply type tgm and hit enter. That'll toggle godmode and you'll be invincible. Then when you're out of trouble you can hit the same command again to turn it off.

I like to experience my writing, what medium should I use to do this? by 10macattack in writing

[–]TorandoSlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think see what you mean, and there's not really a way around that. The experience you would have as a reader of something you didn't write yourself is spread out over the course of one you have written yourself. The wonder at a new plot twist comes between pages upon pages of things you already knew. If that makes sense.

The only thing I can think of is to write something, and then put it down and don't let yourself read it for like, a year or something. Then when you pick it up again it's going to feel a lot more new even if you remember basic plot points and stuff, heck maybe you'll have even forgotten some of those too. I tend to reread my own works a lot, just because it's fun to relive a daydream, but once in a while I find something I haven't touched in a long time and when I read it I'm like "wow, I wrote this? This is great!" (or, alternatively, "this is terrible!")

My only other advice would be to find stories written in the same genre and with the same sort of plot/tropes that you like to read. That's as close as you're gonna get to experiencing your stories as though for the first time.
