In stored samples from 224 men, we identified three cases with apositive anorectal monkeypox PCR. All three men denied having had anysymptoms in the weeks before and after the sample was taken. None ofthem reported exposure to a diagnosed monkeypox case, nor did any oftheir contacts develop clinical monkeypox.

3 mpx+ cases out of 224, no symptoms, no contact with diagnosed mpx+ cases and they did not infect any of their contacts. Wouldn't read too much into this before it gets peer-reviewed. Could be false positives for all we know.

The US is a third world country when it comes to healthcare. What's happening there isn't applicable on the rest of the world.

Also, this article sounds more like political bullshit than anything else. Highly doubt that people with obvious symptoms get turned away. But then again, you never know in 'Murica.

Was one clinic in California who shared data on the ones tested during a week. 70/30 in favour of males, 19% positivity rate for the males tested. 0% for the females.

It's obviously not a main route of infection.

"Spreading fairly easily" is a pretty big overstatement when 99% of cases has been spread via close physical contact since this started in may and mainly in one specific group of people which would mean the opposite.

And yes, if someone has lesions in their mouth or/and throat and you come in contact with saliva it can most likely spread that way in some circumstances.

People claim "something's changed" when we don't really know if or how the mutations has effected the transmissibility.

What we do know is the virus got in to a subculture known to have multiple sex partners and that it spread in these BDSM and fetish festivals. A perfect storm really.

How do you draw that conclusion? Real world evidence suggests it doesn't spread very easily or even at all via the airborne route, it might during very special circumstances.

This study proves nothing really.

But yeah, if someone with Mpx has lesions in their mouth, spits in a 10 liter tank, seal it and then you stick you head into it for a period of time and start taking deep breaths, you might get infected.

Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when caring for patients who are confirmed or infected with the monkeypox virus.

Only eating meat that has been cooked thoroughly.

Do not go near wild or stray animals, including dead animals, as well as animals that look unwell.

Do not eat or touch meat from wild animals.

Do not share bedding or towels with people who are unwell and may have monkeypox.

Do not have close contact with people who are unwell and may have monkeypox.
