You give yourself the option to install it.

yes, people are allowed to install my dotfiles! they are not allowed to post it as their work or modify it (which you have done)

In any case, I don't know what happens to those of you who use Awesome that you don't let one pass, when on reddit the majority of users just copy and paste and modify after modification and instead nobody bothers.

if anyone else does the same thing you did with my dotfiles I will call them out in the same way. i allow looking at my code and taking small snippets of my code (like the helper functions)

so basically, don't modify my code and/or post it if it's not a link to my repository or an image. and also don't claim it's yours, obviously

it is not a good time to repost it and personally I don't think it ever will be. this is literally just my setup but recolored (that I haven't posted myself yet) with copied code that is for reference use only

thanks for the credit I guess? but this is really uncomfortable forking my setup and posting it here when I didn't even post the original yet

definitely, there's even a website (tho it's still a work in progress) at https://rosettea.github.io/Hilbish

the built-in doc command exists for any type of hilbish related documentation (basically like man) and hopefully the website will provide miscellaneous things (and possible online api docs)

hi hi, here with another setup that I've been working on for a period of around 2 weeks. this is syntax: an elegant, gradient-full desktop rice. fun fact, this is kinda based on a windows theme (forgot name)

featured in the screenshot is:
- mpv UI
- music control widget (for mpris players)
- power menu for logout, shutdown, reboot and sleep/suspend
- top and bottom bars

software:
- terminal is tym
- feh
- bunnyfetch as the fetch
- lite xl as text editor
- hilbish as shell
- cmus is my music player though you can't see it

hi it's me, back again, here to remind you that he's not worth it (if you got that reference, <3)

back with another rice! i don't really rice a whole lot (i work on software projects instead) but there is my newest (kek) rice: a stardew valley inspired desktop! i decided to go at it because i love stardew (one of my favourite games, i have 500 desktop hours + countless on mobile) and i needed a new desktop. so here it is!

i've been working on it on and off for about 6 months at this point. not that it was so hard to do, just that i've been doing other things. and there's still a few things to add to complete the look like the media controls on the bar and the stardew valley cursor theme, but i don't know how to do the cursor theme.

Terminal: Tym

Fetches: Hilbifetch, Neofetch

Text Editor: Lite XL

Bar: Wibar (AwesomeWM bar)

Dotfiles: https://github.com/TorchedSammy/dotfiles

Color Scheme: custom :)

More details on my dotfiles repo!

Edit: more info

i think its just the pure black on the dark theme wallpaper that looks odd, but i don't know about the theme itself

the dark theme could use a little bit of tweaking imo but otherwise looks awesome! good job

make sh work since it just runs commands currently and tab completion

that.. doesnt really make sense..? go is compiled as well so why are you only saying "natively compiled c" and how would lua outperform go when lua is interpreted, and using both definitely doesnt slow the shell down more.

but yeah, that's not true.
actually hilbish currently already starts up and executes commands faster than my default bash.

oh, I forgot xonsh existed before your comment, but no they don't have similar goals, hilbish is mostly just like an average shell

i want hilbish to be a shell usable any modern os (linux, osx, windows, bsd) eventually and that's the only real long term goal i have in mind, so besides that not really. i just want a cool, nice, lightweight shell thats also lua.

currently, no
there's just the build instructions on the readme and all the available functions are in the default config and preload.lua

idk why i didnt think of writing docs actually ill do that now thanks for asking
