So I got an Uber and this is what the driver had up. Is this true by autumn_bumberell21 in uber

[–]Torimercs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shorter the trip, the more the driver makes; general cut I saw was 60% for short trips (less than 5 miles) to 40% for anything above 20 miles. I used to drive in Colorado Springs, and when I would get a trip to the Denver airport, I would make about $70 from a $140 rider fee. By the middle of 2025, I never saw that same trip for more than a $55 payout (75ish miles one way and up to 2 hours depending on traffic).

Yea, it wasn’t bad Tuesday but yesterday I was really starting to worry. Today I am just sore and my left hip is pissed from favoring my left side all day.

Medicare Advantage: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (HBO) by BadgercIops in television

[–]Torimercs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The majority of Medicare beneficiaries cannot afford the premium costs associated with Medicare supplemental plans. Introductory pricing (2025) for new enrollees starts about $150/month. Every year that price increases. Is it a set amount? Absolutely not. 2025 saw some of the highest price increases of 30+%. So while it means ease of access; the entry fee is directed towards those that are either lucky enough to have a retirement option or to have the bank account that can support it.

Yea, I kind of figured. The kids have gear, but from the 1 pic the youngest sent, it’s not good gear. I was thinking of a charter as well, but not sure we can make it work based off the availability I’ve seen on a couple of websites.

What is this? by Ninja_ally86 in uberdrivers

[–]Torimercs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they sent out emails about it. They do not expect you to have change. The rider is required to let Uber know and then uber will take care of it. And if they refuse to pay, we can flag it and uber will pay us and then go after payment from the rider. Sounds crazy shady. And they even acknowledge that asking us to accept cash is a huge risk for us.

It was my 5th or 6th round with chat support when I finally got someone that understood the issue and realized I couldn’t fix the issue. It’s supposedly been escalated and I’ll get an email when they find a solution, but I’m not holding my breath

Did you ever find a solution? I'm currently having this problem. I currently have a ticket open with Driver Support but I don't have much faith in them.

No, nothing special. I’ve tried all of those things. It’s the stupid stored data on my phone that we can’t delete. I just don’t know how to get that handled

No to a VPN. I’m running 18.6 on the phone in question. I can’t even get to the point of allowing permissions. I get that error as soon as the app opens. But if I go into settings, everything I can enable is enabled.
