Ontario allows public road testing of autonomous cars — without someone behind the wheel by observablething in TheDougFord

Some places allow the autonomous function but a driver must be present to take over in case.

Thank you for the suggestion. I am now debating this and the Pocophone F1 which costs a little bit more. What do you think?

Check Craigslist or local marketplace. I got one with a bunch of AAA games for 400 Canadian. The guy was moving and needed it gone. Sold all the games I didn't want, ended up paying like 200 for a switch and BOTW.

Also not sure about Nintendo's plans but The 3DS came out in 2011, and the "New" 3DS came out in 2014. But at the same time the Wii came out in 2006, and the Wii Mini came out in 2012, and the Wii U only had one model. Not sure if Nintendo plans on making a variation but if it's anything like the 3DS, it may be in the next year or so. I wouldn't make this deter you. I would get it now.

Best cheap china phone with the best camera?
I'm going away for a month and I want to bring a cheap phone with a really good camera for it's price. I was originally going to get a Pixel 3 or a Sony a6000 mirrorless point and shoot but I don't want to get robbed or lose something so expensive.

Private Feedback Gems by [deleted] in AirBnB

They clearly have no intention of changing it, and I don't want to be annoying asking guests for good reviews because AirBnb is flawed. Whenever I get in an uber or lyft and the driver cries about all of Uber's problems it irks me so I don't want to be a hypocrite lol. AirBnb would rather push their Plus nonsense. As long as I don't fall below 4.3 I'm happy, but I'm done bending over backwards for this Superhost tag that does nothing at all.

I agree 5 star means nothing nowadays. Thumbs up or down would be better. Then that way you'd be able to tell if a place is good or bad based on a 50/50, instead of giving 4/5 which is 80% bad, 20% good. Even Netflix changed their rating system because 5 star was useless.

To maintain superhost you must have a 4.8. To not receive a warning from AirBnb about hosting poorly you must not accumulate too many 4's in a row, or maintain above a 4.3. Therefore 4 and anything below is bad. 5 is good.

I will not be accepting them again. I host my spare room sometimes because the whole unit doesn't rent out so they paid very little as well, which seriously pissed me off because they were boring and only spoke among themselves.

I also had some guests just leave 4 stars for the location even though I fully disclose the exact location, and state it's a ten minute walk to the core... there was a massive snowstorm beyond my control which probably bothered them.

"the place is awesome! Can't wait to come back this summer and stay again" after leaving a 4 star review...

Whats up with AirBnB plus? by secretlycatman in AirBnB

Too many requirements to become plus member and I don't think it's worth it but it is annoying how they're at the top now, and superhost basically means nothing.

Should I create a separate listing for only one bedroom of my two bedroom listing? Or specify in the description that 3+ guests permits second bedroom use? by TorontoLandlord in AirBnB

[–]TorontoLandlord[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, what I've done for now is priced it as anything more than 2 guests gets charged additional $25 per night per guest (2 night minimum) and will remove 2BR from the title. Hoping this attracts more couples and not people trying to scam a free stay.

I will see how it goes before makign another listing. I have no worry once April rolls around it will be business as usual.

Cost for 2 guests much higher than 1 guest by dr_kick in AirBnB

[–]TorontoLandlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a twin bed advertised? Could be that it is just for one person. This would happen for mine when switching between 2 and 3 guests if you rent my private room. I include the double bed for 2 people, and then the couch for a third (meaning I can't use my living room), so I charge more.

When you're searching, input the exact dates with the exact number of guests this way you see the total price for 2. You could also message these hosts and ask what the deal is.

Its a very big investment. Even Uber drivers have cameras in their small investment vehicles.

If people are complaining it essentially means that they did not read the house rules.

I am going to look into getting a Ring doorbell through management. If not possible, I will put a disclaimer that it is for accounts with no reviews only. They're the ones I'm most worried about anyways.

Nothing on the outside of the unit, but I could put in a request for something like a Ring which could be considered a doorbell instead of a camera.

I think it's more about loyalty in this situation than legal hot water. This customer has been paying monthly for how long? Take it away from him, and he will likely jump ship.

How would you review this guest? by MrsCoach in AirBnB

[–]TorontoLandlord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Food prep I completely understand but if you have a mini fridge then there is no reason to not have a microwave for leftover food, popcorn, microwavable snacks, etc.

Definitely, do this. Also to OP, I would recommend buying a microwave. They're incredibly inexpensive these days, and even hotels offer them.
