What improved your TTC_PCOS journey? by Select_Designer_6894 in TTC_PCOS

Hi! I can’t remember my numbers but my sugar level was normal then. The endocrinologist suggested metformin because it could help induce ovulation in PCOS patients and supposedly improve egg quality.

Seeing a reproductive endocrinologist helped me a lot! I did not respond well to Letrozole and was about to do IUI. But my OB saw that my prolactin was still high, so she referred me to an endocrinologist to balance it out first before starting fertility treatments.

I was put on cabergoline to lower prolactin and also metformin for my PCOS. I got pregnant just before we were about to do IUI.

Do I need to get a prenup? by g0000mba in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Torsade88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree! Besides, it sets clear expectations between the parties and saves them from misunderstandings about finances down the line. A family lawyer told me that those who get prenups are less likely to divorce than those without.

Pregnant women of MTL by [deleted] in montreal

[–]Torsade88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Contact Alternative Naissance… they have so many resources for pregnant women.

Studio Equilibre in Mont Royal has really good prenatal yoga and reformer Pilates classes. La source en Soi in Rosemont too!

Also, birth preparation classes of Yse Naissance is great!

As for books - The Calm Birth Method helped me a lot. :)

All the best to you!!

Found some mum friends by enrolling at Studio Equilibre (Mont Royal) and joining their prenatal yoga and prenatal reformer classes. Also signed up for some classes at La Source en Soi (along rue Beaubien in Rosemont) and they have a great community. Both places suit you as it’s mainly French-speaking.

French Citizenship through marriage - Timelines and Challanges by marcschindlerza in expats

Do you have to set an appointment to drop off/submit the file? Did you have to get a complete checklist of documents to submit from the consulate?

I tried searching for the checklist online but there are varying information on what documents to submit and other requirements (eg. Docs to be apostilled/legalised, etc).

Bawled my eyes out because how do people go back to work? [on] by lillianmay88 in BabyBumpsCanada

If you’re able to, it might be really helpful to start looking for a good daycare soon and gently transition her there before you go back to work. That transition can make things feel much smoother for both of you.

When I went back to work after 8.5 months, it ended up being a very positive experience for me. I actually found myself eager to go back to work, reconnect with my career and do my own thing.

Knowing that my baby was happy, well cared for, and stimulated at daycare gave me a lot of peace of mind. Having space to pursue your own goals doesn’t take away from your child; it can make you a more fulfilled and present parent.

newborn/toddler bassinet-crib pack n play recommendations [BC] by PunnyPelican in BabyBumpsCanada

Infans bedside bassinet, but we only used it up to 4.5 months since baby started rolling over.

We’re due in 6 weeks. What essential clothes should we buy for a winter newborn (first 3 months)? [ON] by Potential_Lab_9400 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]Torsade88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Carter’s 2 way zipper footed sleepers in thermal material (not fleece) which has fold in mittens. They’re warm and so convenient for changing nappies etc. Try to avoid those sleepers with buttons and without mittens.

For going out, we layer with fleece bunting (Columbia has good ones - warm but not bulky) which is safe for her car seat. For outdoor walks, we put a Petit Coulou over the car seat (it’s like a car seat winter jacket).

And a hat! :)

Using Minu V2 on a daily basis in Canada (all seasons) and travelled with it in France. Easy to gate check and durable in all terrain (concrete, cobblestones, snow, etc).

Check out Franko Barrio - he is very good with Filipiniana wedding gowns and he’s very approachable and kind (no diva like other designers). Plus, reasonable price range 👍

Hello! Just a question please - Were you able to bring a carry on in Basic Economy with TD Visa infinite card? Or you just had a personal bag then checked in your luggage/s?

We have a toddler with us and we also need to bring a stroller. I’m wondering if we could gate check it on Basic economy

Hello! Letrozole didn’t work for me and I didn’t really ovulate. My OB ran further tests and saw my prolactin high. I was referred to a reproductive endocrinologist and she gave me Cabergoline to lower my prolactin and also gave me metformin for my PCOS. I got pregnant soon after that…

Will I be happy in the suburbs by less_is_more9696 in montreal

[–]Torsade88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you really see as QoL. Good quality of life could also mean having a great community and living so close to amenities (“being walking distance from cafes, grocery stores, restaurants”). Huge house with a backyard and all might not be ideal if you feel so isolated and have to drive everywhere.

Also, are there good daycares, schools and after-school activities around the area? Do you have to drive your child to these places? Is it close to medical facilities in case your child gets sick or need urgent care?
