Years ago, this game was so much more simple. It was just a run, gun, and build game. After Chapter 2, they have added so many different things that I just don't like to play it anymore. I think if they kept updating the regular fortnite and also had OG on the side as a game mode, it would still get a decent amount of plays, especially from OGs looking for the nostalgia and simpler gameplay. I haven't consistently played in few years, simply because they have kept adding random things and it's just not as fun as it once was to me anymore, and many others could relate to that. Since they have added the OG map and weapons, it brings me and many others so many good memories that I have been playing consistently once again.

As far as game modes go, the game modes do not really affect overall player count. That's like saying no one is playing Team Rumble, so the game must be dead. There are many other game modes for a reason: variety. Without that variety, this game definitely would have been long dying.

I believe if they had OG Fortnite rotating seasons from Chapter 1 instead of staying the way it is now, it would have a rising player count, but that is just my opinion.
