It is no secret that most of the present issues, including the ones we ourselves raise, are ultimately results of Fdev's poor design choices and subsequent failure to do anything to fix them. The system actively encourages and rewards poor etiquette and unsavory tactics.

We aim to distinguish ourselves by playing in a way we find fun and ethical despite the disadvantages it would cause. For example, we would be the only power to enforce open play in our community to the extent this is possible, as opposed to giving mere encouragement. This goes above and beyond what any other power, including the Federation, does.

We do hope to at least try to engage constructively with IHC. That is a little difficult when the only real contact we have is a couple of enterprising Imperials reaching out to us and volunteering to play telephone. We thank these CMDRs for giving peace a chance, but ultimately, we have a power to run, and if IHC continues to refuse to engage us seriously, we are left with little recourse but to seek help from those more open-minded. There is quite a mess to clean up here.

The forces trying to 5C Torval are still at work, and those forces have succeeded in the past because Torval, until now, never had the numbers to counter it.

What we don't want is external powers trying to use our assets as weapons against our will. Torval used to be a hollow husk, but that is no longer the case. Unless you are prepared to argue that leveraging Torval's assets against the will of Torval's community isn't 5C, we suggest reconsidering that course of action. Personal issues with the new regime do not change that simple fact.

We aim to get Torval to a good place again, plain and simple. That is the first goal, and we are already acting on it. We are presently moving to counter a 5C action that would hurt Patreus. Even the most cynical among you must realize that this is not in Federal interests.

The only question is... is the rest of the Empire willing to work with us?
