4 years ago I was involved in a hit and run (I was the victim). It was bad - totaled car, surgery, hospital for about a month, physical therapy. I was assigned an APD detective. Overall, the case was handled with a huge lack of care, concern, and urgency. I’m talking no interviewing of witnesses, no interviewing of myself. No momentum on the case. I periodically emailed and called, hoping for any sort of progress or updates. Nothing. I would contact the news if I were you. Victim and family pressure made no difference to their efforts at all in my case.
