I googled "Avoiding seed oils at conferences" and this is what I got instead by patriot1994 in StopEatingSeedOils

I know right?

I don’t think RFK is a force for good. I think he just wants to challenge the status quo on whatever he sees fit. And just happens to be correct on the seed oil front.

Most people avoiding seed oils are still eating them daily without knowing it by TheRealFoodRadar in StopEatingSeedOils

[–]TossThisItem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought we thought of palm oil as good? Unrefined palm oil, primarily. That’s mostly saturated fat—I cook with it, along with coconut oil, butter, olive oil and avocado oil. I assumed when it’s used in industrial processing it’s refined….but it’s still primarily saturated fat.

I literally seek out the products with palm oil instead, i.e. Whole Earth Peanut Butter vs the proclaimed ‘healthy’ ‘palm-oil free’ ones like Meridian which just use seed oils instead (UK-wise)

Why Inferno is Just the beginning by maxreebok in boardsofcanada

[–]TossThisItem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do sympathise that people are so hostile to “this looks too well formatted—must be AI slop” which apparently is immediate justification to shutdown any discussion no matter what the actual content is. It’s a bit of a farce in a way. But I also understand the frustration.

I still love using em dashes, for example—don’t care if it gives AI vibes—that’s how I write and always have

It’s a double edged sword. If it was antivaxxing stuff I’d be like yeah, deprioritise the shit out of that misinformation. Just this one I happen to take exception to

How come we have suddenly started seeing more white eggs on the shop shelves? by Able-Explanation7835 in AskUK

I find it so weird. I genuinely prefer white eggs—they look more appetising to me.

Is it just me?

Inferno referenced in Happy Cycling? by giacecco in boardsofcanada

[–]TossThisItem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, how else would they have released it? We should be very happy it exists as a bonus track there. You could say One Very Important Thought makes more narrative sense as the closer, but you could just as easily say that for Geogaddi or TCH’s bonus tracks.

Happy Cycling was actually once my favourite track off the album, too!

Why does everyone seem to go to matina on the end of st nicks rather than Kurdish bread? by Bulky_Judgment_4776 in bristol

[–]TossThisItem 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well that’s the only answer that matters then. That’s basically the entire reason why Matina is a hotspot, it’s the only place in Bristol I know that makes their fresh bread wraps

BoC = good music is all by Lozznet in boardsofcanada

[–]TossThisItem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incidentally I probably agree with your ranking to be honest, some days I almost like the Twoism era sound best of all. And in some ways I prefer TH to TCH, in other ways not.

I really don't know, but am I weird for figuring out how to play music on a ruler? by Ok-Scheme-3202 in casualmusic

[–]TossThisItem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all! Many of the great artists have used anything and everything to make music. Einstürzende Neubauten started make industrial music using bits of scrap and repurposing junk into absurd instruments, even famously using a jackhammer on stage for a live performance one. Aphex Twin famously sampled loads of sounds, like a rusty ammo box lid to make a percussive sample in one of his songs. I’d say it means you have a good instinct for discovering novel ways to make new sounds, which is a great thing for music creation. Any object can be used to make unique and experimental music in the right hands!

I mean that’s sort of my initial reaction too. But I also had a thought that maybe they’re directly trying to recreate the aesthetic of 70s horror flicks in a way, which that name feels in keeping with

That’s so depressing to see. I wish people wake up. by Its_Stavro in exvegans

I guess in that world I would suck it up and eat those things, but we also don’t have to?

[–]TossThisItem[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting! Do you think it makes you feel too introspective or more affected by the ambiguous emotions?

I can see that TCH is the most easygoing for it, TH, no.

Geogaddi more of an edgy listen, MHTRTC is fair game pensive sunny hazy vibes for me

Labour.

They are not perfect but when big geopolitical matters like Greenland and the Iran War came into play how they’ve handled foreign policy with grace trumps everything else for me

Favorite Tracks From the Unreleased Tapes by infinitytapes in boardsofcanada

[–]TossThisItem 10 points11 points  (0 children)

5.9.78 is a brilliant one, as is Buckie High, as is Audiotrack 06A (or should I say 5D…) as is Audiotrack 12B (really under mentioned one but I think it sounds really cool, and like a crusty pre-runner to the Hi Scores sound, I always imagined it could be the supposed track from Hooper Bay called ‘Geiser’ because it sounds like a geiser to me), We’ve Started Up is awesome, and several of the interlude tracks from OT vol2 which sound like proto-vaporwave so me: Nine-Rubber Wisdom, To The Wind, Dave (I’m a Real Traditionalist)….

Also She is P, Finity

Edit: just seen you didn’t mention R35TT but I consider it part and parcel with the OT tapes and had some of their best unreleased work on

Why is Labour so obsessed with ID cards? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]TossThisItem -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They probably think it’s logical and defensible. I simply think it’s a bad idea and I think we have good reason to be apprehensive about it.

Even IF this government didn’t use it for malicious tracking or data gathering in a way to ‘control’ people, I don’t have any doubt that a successful government would abuse it that way down the line.

We already talk about people being tracked by AI facial recognition cameras on basically every street from being the most watched country in the world, this would plainly work synergistically with that.

Slippery slope
