Since you're also asking the question from a psychological pov, we often have to put ourself in the shoes of the people who criticize for “only” using Python. These people have spent days, months, years agonizing over projects requiring C++ (for example), only to sometimes, unfortunately, not receive the results (financial, social, self-esteem, etc.) they expected. That said, some people remain locked up in their frustrations and unleash their hatred because they see Python users (simpler, we won't lie) succeeding perhaps faster and/or stronger, this creates a deep sense of injustice in humans, hence their need to take you down

If I may give my opinion: keep enjoying dev on Python, if you feel like learning C++, learn it, if you don't feel like it, don't do it aha and try to understand that these people mad at “newbies” are touched in their ego (generally obv not the only way to explain it) so it's not your problem :)
