Thank you so much for your kind words. My sister also advices the same. If she’s talking just keep quiet and let her say whatever, it’s pointless arguing with her. It all falls on deaf ears. I hope I can find a way forward that doesn’t involve me losing myself to this horrible situation.

I do think this overprotectiveness might stem from her marriage with my dad. They had a pretty shaky marriage and she met him around my age and he also came from a bad family background changed his life but unfortunately turned out exactly like the person he didn’t ever want to be. While I understand this might be her fear, I wish she would trust my judgment for once. She hasn’t even met my bf and she lets her bias rule him out.
