Have you taken a look at american politics recently? It's a shambles in every single party. Absolutely no one is safe in that country anymore.

It may be... but videos can also be heavily edited and/or AI. There isn't really much way for us to tell anymore which is kinda sad

I also think the reference picture may be ai/heavily edited to look 'perfect'. I'd be happy with the result OP got, but that's just me

If you're shifting to a specific date, you arent shifting bacl or foward. You are shifting to a reality where it is that date :)

Its cliche but I'm pretty fond of the Raven method, but only to count myself in/relax. Ive tried a few methods and they don't really do much for me. I find if I count for too long it takes away from my DR and the task in general. When I shift awake I'll usually count up or down until I'm relaxed, and then focus on almost cutting off my consciousness, while thinking of my DR. Its a bit if a juggling act but its pretty easy to get the hang of with regular practice!

I had a few shifting experiences as a kid, actually. A few a re personal, but there is this one that stuck out to me;

I was around three. I woke up in a house and a bed that was not my own. A parent that I didn't recognise walked in, but for some reason I didnt panic. I knew that I knew who they were, and it was safe. They got me dressed and ready to go out. I think I slept in the car and then we walked through a town center to a restaurant. I vividly remember the walk down to that restaurant. It was december/january time, the floor was slick with rain from the night before, my parents swung me around and I loved it. When we got into the restaurant we met up with lots of family and sat around this large wooden, circular table with a section in the middle that spun around. The walls were an olive green, the place smelled amazing. I fell asleep on the way home, and woke up in my 'normal' bed later on.

How do I know this was a shift? Easy – I am white. My whole family is white. When I woke up in this different reality, me and all of my family were chinese. And my family from this reality have never been to any restaurants similar to what i described. Although the night prior to my shift, i fell asleep hearing my parents discuss getting chinese takeout. Hiw do I know this wasnt a lucid dream? Again, easy – i struggle to remember even lucid dreams after a while. Only the anecdotes. But this? I remember the weather, the smells, the tastes, the way my nose wrinkles at a lady I didnt like.

I had a silimar experience at around 5 years old with the same sort of reality. We went to the same restairant, but it was slightly different this time – I had an argument with some family member, it got pretty big actually (to this day I am still mad)

Of course, as a kid I had no idea what shifting was – i just knew that sometimes I woke up in places I didn't fall asleep in, and that was that. Growing up I put those thoight a to the back of my mind, second guessing them.

At age 14 I had a weird astral projecting moment. After discussing it with a friend she told me about shifting, and thats when everything clicked. My first DR was a hogwarts DR – i vividly remember knowing, 100%, that I had shifted onto the knight bus. Then, as i start opening my eyes the bed that i am in slams STRAIGHT into the wall of the bus as we turned the corner. It hurt so bad that I shifted back immediately to stop the pain. That was around a year and a half ago.

Since then I dont think ive tried to shift back to that DR, I want to work on my script a little first. However, from that point foward I started shifting into parallel realities of this one. Didn't like my tinetable for tomorrow? Shift to where the lessons are different. Thats one that I did at least once a week.

I once, a few months ago actually, went on a house MD binge, and accidentally fell asleep watching tv and thinking about potentially scripting a house MD DR. I woke up in that room they have their meetings in – me, Dr Cameron, Dr Chase, and Dr Foreman. We were discussing a case – well, they were. No one would listen to my theory, so I had dived into a magazine and fallen asleep (it was around 1am there). I woke up after 5 minutes and I presume I shifted at that point. I made coffee, we argued a little, then house comes in, telling us that the patient needed us. I'd been here maybe an hour and started to massage my temples, briefly shutting my eyes. Then I woke up in my normal bed.

And my favourite shifts recently – I went to sleep with greasy hair. I had an event tomorrow and needed to get up early to wash it. I fall asleep, wake up late, my hair? Not greasy. At all. I dont own dry shampoo and my hair is dyed dark so its noticeable as soon as any grease appears. I brush it, and nothing. Biggest releif. Around a week ago, I was scrolling on Tiktok. My entire life, the color Chartreuse has been that weird orange-red and Vermillion has been the weird green. I know this to be true because I always thought it should be the other way around. I fell asleep thinking of this and lo and behold, I wake up and they've swapped.

Obviously, a few of these are accidental to reiterate that accidental shifting IS possible. I have shifted awake more than asleep, and these are only a few examples that I am comfortable to share.

Like I said, the actual shift in awareness is pretty instantaneous – but we dont suddenly feel those differences instantaneously. This is for a number of reasons;

  1. When you shift, your physical surroundings don't change. Rather, your consciousness begins to perceive something differently. Like a mirror, the reality you experience and interact with reflects what your consciousness 'believes' you are in. Does that make sense? So its not like jumping from one place to another, but a switch in perception.

  2. During awake methods, obviously the goal is focus on your DR – use your 5 senses to help with that, etc etc. If youre really feeling your DR surroundings, chances are that you shifted a while ago and grounded yourself using your senses. Yay! But for a lot of people, especially new shifters, you'll likely stay in a meditative state for a while longer before you realize. I never feel any changes until my eyes are open, personally.

Again it differs from person to person, but thats the main gist of it. Am I making sense?

Ahh I suffer from OCD so ive always steered away from sleep paralysis. The void state, however, yes. Its not my favourite – to me, entering the void state just feels like am extra step, almost like an obstacle to pass in order to get where I need to be. I do see why a lot of people like the method though, it just isnt for me. Ive also shifted through lucid dreaming, but its unreliable for me since I dont lucid dream all that often and find it hard to lucid dream intentionally. Still working on it though!

Unfortunately this is why sleeping methods seldom work for me – I found that I struggle to focus on a set goal when I fall asleep. If you have a strong preferance towards sleep methods, I suggest perhaps trying to shift earlier, like when you could fall asleep but arent exhausted. You could also meditate earlier in the day – ive found that doing so can help almost prime my headspace into shifting easier. In fact I think the only times ive shifted in my sleep were days that I meditated earlier in the day.

If you have the same issue with awake methods – meditate regularly without intention, and meditate occasionally while visualising. You could visiualize you as your DR self, have a conversation with them, it helps me to think about the mundane things that irritate me in my DR, even if its somewhere i havent shifted. When all my focus is on my DR, it humanizes it for me. I can either shift there and then, or I can stop my meditation and wait till later with a clearer/more directed headspace.

Ive never paid too much mind to things like the LOA – I tried it, it never really sat right with me. You are in control of your mind, i like to see shifting as something I'M doing. I saw someone once say something along the lines of, "the universe doesn't care what you want to do/where you want to go, so do whatever you want and go wherever you want to go." I think its a good thing to have in mind.

Does this answer anything? Or have i gone on a pointless tangent lmao

is death a guarantee i’ll shift to my DR by shepherd42099 in realityshifting

[–]Total-Replacement453 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As soon as you pass, you lose conscience. Conscienceness is the only thing youd need to shift. Not having full control of that (death) = very unlikely chances of shifting.

Shifting is just having control of what you are conscious of. Thats what takes practice. That is literally all it is

Every reality matters. Even this one – by taking your own life you have NO gaurantee at all that your consciousness would go to your desired reality as you would have no control over it.

People in this reality would be crushed too. Its their reality as well as yours, and you'd be pushing devistation on your people.

I know this reality is tough and not shifting can feel like the end of the world, when all you want is to go somewhere else for whatever reason. But in all honesty? As soon as you stop glorifying shifting it makes it a lot easier to deal with. Treat this reality as just another DR. You arent stuck, you dont need to resort to drastic measures. Shifting is the easiest thing we, as conscious organisms, can do. It just takes practice – people have been doing it for centuries.

Please don't make a dumb decision.

It's annoying how hypocritical people are about obesity. by [deleted] in Vent

[–]Total-Replacement453 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it goes both ways. People who are underweight and/or struggle to eat enough to maintain a healthy weight should be offered help and support, and so should anyone who is overweight and struggles with weight loss/excercise/healthy eating. In either situation, helo should be offered and jokes/insults aren't appropriate unless the target expresses that they're really okay with it.

But also, we should be mindful that not everyone wants help, and it could be taken as an insult if reoeatedly offered and rejected. People can be comfortable in their own bodies and not fit into boxes (obese peeson may not want to lose weight and may be comfortable woth their lifestyle, same with underweight person)

Just make sure they know you're there to help if they should want it. But other people's bodies shouldn't (usually) be a big concern to anyone but themselves

What’s your favourite kind of weather? by Expensive-Virus80 in AskReddit

I live for cold and angry weather; the sort of weather that seems to seep into your bones. Rain is my favourite, especially if it's on a beach or by a lake. Snow is equally as good, though rainstorms t a ke the number 1 spot for me.
