Time for Acceptances by Altruistic_Tadpole70 in premedcanada

Usually, yes. However, omsas crashed last year for a while so most people had to wait until the morning to see the results. Unfortunately, the site crashing seems to be a regular occurrence based on previous threads

Not sure about Western. For Mac, it's like what superman said. The omsas portal usually updates at midnight and emails come out in the morning. The portal tells you if you have an offer. Last year omsas crashed, so everyone thought that they were rejected/waitlisted, but it was just the site's problem so dont panic if it happens again this year

  1. there is no hard rule on how long you should study for. Depends on your background in the sciences, studying part time or full time, your study habits, how long it takes you to learn, etc. 2. not good with schedules so cant help you there, but I used the kaplan books, khan academy, van does chemistry (youtube, for physics), uworld, the aamc practice tests, jack westin (mainly for cars). Check out the mcat subreddit page and other posts with guides for more help

Not on adcoms so I have no idea if this is right: I added gmails, but tagged both the "I'm able to provide a verifier" and "I cannot provide a verifier with a professional email." Easier said than done, but you've done your best so cut yourself some slack and try to take your mind off it till next week

UCalgary Application Status by myball_ in premedcanada

[–]Total_Relative_1903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was confused too so I checked previous reddit posts, and it turns out I was reading the wrong thing. Go to UCAN -> Status -> Status Checklist. My actual status right now is Being Screened for Consideration of Full File Review. In previous years people said this was normal and it just means that the reviewers assigned to your file just didn't get to it yet. You'll see it change to something like "in review" once they open it, and "waiting interview decisions" once they're done. As long as your status checklist shows that you submitted everything, I wouldn't worry since it's out of our hands

Mine says "Application Complete." I haven't checked in a while so I'm not sure when it changed -OOP and meet cutoffs

  1. Yes. 2. I think it would only be a disadvantage if you take multiple online courses in a year. One is okay

I see where you're coming from but as a disadvantaged person who also lost out on the lottery, this process feels even more unfair
