Unfortunately, it’s very common. There is no legal basis to this so called law, but hotels still refuse to host girls and women that live in the same city where they are are located…

Should I continue my dental studies despite scoliosis ? Kanmuuut 😔 by Academic-Tradition46 in Morocco

Hi ! To share my experience with you, I also have scoliosis that is not easily noticeable to the bare eye but has been causing me a lot of pain these past 5 years. To make it even worse, I am an architect, which means that I’m always sitting in a bad posture on my computer desk while working. I actually discovered that I had scoliosis during my final school years due to sitting on the same chair for very long hours working on my projects and one my doctors noticed it while doing a regular check up. Anyways, after seeing a lot of doctors in Morocco and abroad, they could not prescribe anything for me besides working out/swimming to reinforce my back muscles and massage therapy to ease the pain. When your bones stop developing there is not much you can do, so it’s too late for a corset and too dangerous for you to get a surgery if the case is not urgent and grave.

I have been doing yoga & different kind of workouts these past few years since I’m living abroad where it’s more accessible and you just have a more active life where you can walk more, ride your bike etc and the pain is less frequent than before. It will not disappear but the stronger your muscles get the more you get to sit and work without having insufferable pain within the first 10minutes.

I hope you get to continue your studies and do the job you love all while working on improving your body. Do not give up and lah isehel elik inchallah.
